Thanks for the update Gareth, it actually looks a lot better than I expected, particularly the cross section  :salute: is it as diminutive as my Vaughan Mini would you say?

It's in the same ballpark size-wise, but I'd say it's got a heavier head.  Hard to say for sure how different without holding them side by side.  I'll grab it later and check the weight.

Just remembered about weighing it.  It's 13 5/8oz or 386gr according to my kitchen scales.

ok, Guys, which one do you think ? the 40cm or 33cm ? I have no clear task in mind for this (yet) . . . . i'm inclined towards the smaller but open to suggestion.

I think the one with the bigger poll would feel nicer to use, more balanced to swing
If the head is balanced it shouldn’t ‘wobble’ in swing  :tu:

Sorry Gareth, I'm a little late coming back to you on this.  The Vaughan Mini is a measly 310g, and the eye is only 25mm x 8mm, so your hawk is a mighty felling axe compared to the Vaughan  :D

What's a month between mates, eh? :D

Good info though.  I'm genuinely surprised by how good a little chopper and splitter this little hawk has been.  Without a doubt it's my new go-to pack axe.

That's really not helping me to not want one  :D

I have to keep reminding myself there's a Roselli 850 and a GB Wildlife Hatchet not getting much use already  :P
