Anyone else notice this on Amazon?

I have been noticing this lately. Not with just this listing, but I have noticed this in at least 3 - 4 other listings. It gives you the option to buy 2, 3, 4, or 5 with different prices. The thing is if you buy 2 the price is more than if you bought 3 single's. 

$29.17 for one. $95.99 for two....... Uhhhh...... WTF.

One for $30.40. Two for $148.26.


That means the second one is costing you $117.86! You could buy 5 at that price.

I've noticed this on E-bay as well.....there's a sucker born every minute

I used to frequent amazon on a daily basis a year or so back. Back then I noticed a pattern in pricing. It was almost as if every time an item got a hit without an actual sale the price would gradually come down- often to the point of being an almost giveaway. But as soon as you bought it the price would go back high again and then slowly the cycle would start all over again. However I think they must have altered something because it sure doesn't seem that way these days!

Every now and then you find good deals on eBay, I just purchased a brand new Wingman in original box with nylon sheath and papers, selling for $20 only because it has a 6 letters company name laser engraved on one of the handles which is not a big concern for me.

Yeah it seems to me I have read more than one expose on Amazon's alleged dynamic pricing. They said it depends what price range of products you look at and what country you are viewing from. All I know is the few Amazon vendors I dealt with were terrible and the merchandise and shipping prices for shops that sell outside of America are outrageous so I cancelled my account and go strictly by the bay. The ebay sellers are getting better and better. It's unusual if your purchases don't get shipped the same day or the next and the prices don't vary depending where you live. I mean the low price sellers on Amazon just don't ship internationally at all whereas on the bay we get to buy stuff at the same prices people back home do even though shipping can sometimes be expensive.
