I like the style of the older PX150. It has some classy lines.  :tu:

The older ones had the more classic looks of the Vespa, but they could be a PITA to keep running. Had to tinker with them. The new ones with 4 stroke motors and modern electronics are way ahead in real world usability. Much more reliable, faster, smoother, and in some ways easier to service. The CVT tranny is wonderful, keeping the engine at a steady RPM while cruising a backroad or down the interstate.

I have to admit that where once I was a fan of the old ones, I now love the new modern ones for many reasons.
Don't get too serious, just enough will do.

Such a beautiful day...had my first motorcycle ride earlier. Motorcycle started up like a charm, and after a quick wash, was on my way.

I love this photo I found off the net.

Seriously thinking of taking the motorcycle to work today. Still cold out there, but supposed to warm up nicely later.

How good is your winter gear? And with the big screen you should not get too much cold wind either?

We are now moving into winter, luckily we don't get any snow here in Sydney. The heated grips will get a good workout on my early morning starts.  ;)

I like the crisp mornings on the bike. It seems to perk my senses up a little more.

Enjoy the ride.

And going by the photos that bike has seen a fair bit of Oz.  Also it is certainly a LOT more comfortable on long rides than that ridiculous "ape hanger" chopper pictured above.

It has, that was a Sydney to Alice Springs trip last year to watch the Finke Desert Race. We saw Toby Price doing what he does best. He was in a class of his own. The total trip was 7,000 kms in 20 days and only 13 riding days. This was just the "lower" quarter of Oz. For our international inmates, Alice Springs is very close to the geographical centre of Oz. Roughly 3,000 kms from Sydney. It can be done shorter, but then you are crossing the Simpson Desert, with lots of sand, and very hard work on a 300 kg motorcycle.

That ape hanger choppers looks rather funny, I have no idea how one would attempt to ride that. I certainly will not give it a go!!!

Cheers,

Pete

The only thing to make that photo more ridiculous would be to put a chopper front end on it.

I did take the motorcycle to work yesterday. Almost got taken out by another driver....but I was aware of his not being aware of me...so I had plenty of time to not be where I should have been.

Glad you are OK!!! That always gets my back up when the cagers are not aware.

A chopper front end? That will be pushing it  ;)

I am very near to clock 100.000 Km on my bike. (99 and counting) A 2008 Honda CBF 600. That would be an average of 11.000 Km per year.

I used to ride a motorcycle. My first was a Suzuki GSX 400 Impulse, followed by a Suzuki VX 800 and a Kawasaki ZL 1000 Eliminator. But all that's long in the past. The Eliminator was a drag racing monster that at the time outperformed Yamaha's V-MAX.

G'Day,

Just came back from a quick two day trip down to the Snowy Mountains from Sydney. We left yesterday morning and it was pretty cold. Temps were between 0 degree C and about 6 Degree C. At one stage we hit a patch of fog and that dipped down to -1,5 degree C. We went over lots of back roads, fire trails and a bit of snow. It was the first time the bike "saw" some snow in Mt Selwyn. Very slippery with the road tires on, but still fun. The official ski season will only open in July to co-inside with the school holidays. There is already a reasonable layer of snow, but apparently not enough to ski on. Today was much "warmer" with temp in the high singles and low teens. A bit of drizzle as we got into Sydney.

All up 1,300 kms for the trip. Heated grips are a MUST!!!

Sounds great minus the snow.

Here are some photos of my old Triumph America. It was my first bike, and it got trashed when someone ran me off the road 7 years ago.

I miss that motorcycle at times...although the V-Star 1100 Classic I now have is a far better motorbike.

4 broken ribs and raw knees.

My reaction to the incident is to install a louder exhaust, wear high visibility clothing and helmet...and never ever take for granted a car next to you on the roadway. In fact, I either speed up or slow down to eliminate that possibility entirely.  ;)

There are only 3 round barns in all of Canada. One is located just past Thessalon Ontario...and is a gift shop. It is a fascinating barn, and the gift shop inside is also full of interesting things. In fact, it is the third barn noted in this web site...

https://huronshores.ca/about/historic-cordukesweber-12-sided-barn/

It makes a nice background to my motorcycle. The barn looks small in these photos...but that is deceptive.

I have a TTR250 on the road at the moment but my time is spent getting down and dirty on this baby most of all.

Off to Swaziland this weekend.
