Helle Knives.
on: August 03, 2015, 02:05:49 PM
Having just gotten back from a trip to Norway (more on that later in another thread ;)) I thought I'd share my souvenir I got for myself.  One of the very few things that seems to cost less in Norway that they would in the UK are Helle knives, and I was especially happy to find this one at a further discount due to being ex display.  So a knife that would set me back nearly £90 in the UK only cost me a little over £30 (or 399NoK in local terms).  Very pleased with it. 8)

Strong leather sheath.

Birch, leather and antler handle.  Laminate blade.

The model is the "Symfoni".

Any other happy Helle owners out there?

Damn, Helle really makes amazing knives. Why couldn't Les stick with them?

Pfft... I used to go every month to Oslo, before I got into knives... if I only knew...
A 30 GBP Helle is still a tad out of my price range, but more achievable to stretch the funds as main fixed blade around...

Very nice....  8)

I missed a Bessegen that was gathering dust at a local shop, gone by the time I got paid.

I'm assuming it was old stock because the prices I was quoted last week means I won't be getting any soon.

That's very nice and all but if I went to Norway I'd be coming back with a few thousand pounds of fresh salmon and a couple of blondes  :D

Cheers buddy.  Even at it's full price (around 600 Kroner) it would have been a good deal compared to the UK prices.

The blade and handle were engraved for someone with Glamox (A big lighting solutions company in Oslo).

I'd like to polish the blade and refinish the handle but haven't found the time.😕
