You've got to keep the Sideclip mate. :pok:  I'd also say you try to hang on to that Sunwayman torch you've got, but history suggests that that's unlikely.....

Agree that you should keep the Fusilier, MP426 and RT.  Think of what you've put effort into and what you actually pick up day-to-day.
Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

Keep the orange stuff in the fuselier pic, your favorite Juice, the Golfer or Compact, and a Rambler or whatever small Vic you like best.

Sell the rest.

This "change of situation" sounds bad. Like divorce, lost your job, getting evicted, or something like that. I hope it is not as bad as I'm imagining, and I wish I could help you.  :-\

Best of luck, Bro. I enjoy your posts here.

Not married thankfully, income dropped but not stopped, preparing to downsize while the choice is still mine  ;)  Minimal footprint and ease of relocation would lead to a lot more flexibility and options should the situation not improve or even deteriorate. It might all get better next week/month, or it might all get worse. Sensible to take preparatory action now to be able to better respond in the future. No crisis yet

 yeah, that bloody thing just seems to want to escape all the time! It's sat in front of me right now actually, so at this moment in time it's still in my posession. Only a matter of time before it goes MIA again though  :P :D

This means the PST II, Mini, and Neutered Octane will be listed for sale, as will EITHER the PST III or the Roundhouse.
I'm getting used to have my name shortened and misspelled but i OPPOSE to being sold :viking:

Oh wait... that's not a typo...

I think the dividing factor here is the bit-driver of the Roundhouse. The bit-driver needs special bits, preferably a bit extender. If you have another tool (like the Wave) it might be worth to have a kit but personally I would go for the PST III (works alone) and keep a more universal bit-kit (e.g. the one from your Spirit Plus), as this is compatible with the TurboDiesel adapter etc.
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

Keep the Spirit RT and Schrade LC6. They'll need company so, Yeoman, Voyager Lite and CT34. It was mentioned so I'll vote for it, Spyderco UKPK.

This post was very poignant....

Sideclip - quality pliers, with clip.  More useful than a Mini, as nice as a PST

It was seeing your Sideclip, PST and Mini at the meet that convinced me the Sideclip was the one to go for. :tu:

What innards would you rather see in a Wave?
Bit drivers, or regular drivers?

Given that you'll most likely have a SAK on you as well as the Wave, bit drivers.

Category: Lights

Easy job, only one or two to get rid of  :D Everything else I'm happy to keep. They don't take up much space, they don't last for ever, and they're good for keeping in kits and various places.... plus a lot of mine are only worth the cost of postage  :P

Move along, nothing to see here  :D :D

Finally managed to get some piccies uploaded.

Non-locking modern folders:

From the left (second pic)

Byrd Tern x2
CRKT Edgie
Spyderco UKPK (First version – G10 with S30V)
Vagnino Zipslip
CRKT Mah Liong #5
Byrd Wings Slipit
Boker XS

I'm certainly going to keep the Wings and at least one Tern. Non-negotiable  :P Excellent daily carry knives.

The Mah Liong #5 is another nice knife, and may be viewed by some as less “stabby”, but doesn't slice as well as the Tern, nor does it have as positive a “lock” in the open position. Nice, but is it surplus to requirements?

The Vagnino needs mothering. It's a D2 blade so it will corrode if not cared for. It's also not going to be an easy one to sharpen. The commonly repeated phrase it that D2 will take a crap edge, and hold it forever. So, won't take a super edge, but you'll go ages before you need the hassle of touching it back up. Add to that it's an expensive knife, and I can't see me getting a sizable chunk of my money back on it, so I think this is a stayer. It also goes well with the Fuse-ilier ensemble :D

The Boker XS is certainly not “public friendly” in my opinion, particularly with having a BO blade, and whilst it's a good robust knife, is it really needed? I would feel comfortable working this knife harder than the others, but away from public areas, if I need to work a blade hard, I'll use a fixed blade.

The UKPK has done very little work with me, and I've never resharpened it. The Tern tends to take pocket duty instead as it's a slightly smaller blade, and also so easy to sharpen. It also might have more appeal and resale potential as these original versions can be hard to come by.

The Edgie is another knife that doesn't get much pocket carry time. It's main role was down at the boat as a rope knife (pushcut polyprop, don't slice), and general hacking tackle. Despite this it's in good condition, but resale value is probably whatever the postage cost would be. Maybe a nice GAW item though?

Thoughts?

Locking blade folders

Leatherman Crater C33LX – Gifted to me, so would be gifted not sold
CRKT Van Hoy Snaplock
Cheapo off-brand thing – first one I ever bought for myself
CRKT Mcginnis Tuition

2 x Buck X-Tract Essential
Buck X-Tract Fin
Gerber EAB
Gerber EAB Lite

Note: The Fin has pliers but no pocket clip

… and finally a knife that will definitely be stopping with me, one I recently won in last months giveaway, a Kit Carson Tribute from CRKT (I'll do a write up on it seperately )

Another knife that will definitely be stopping is the cheapo. While I don't get too sentimental about stuff, this serves as a reminder of how it's not the knife but the user that gets stuff done. Probably the worst knife shown in this post, it was all I had for a good while, and even though it wasn't carried everyday, I always achieved what I needed to with it

Aside from the M16 and the cheapo, the rest is open for comments

Mini vs Juice vs PST III

Look at this gorgeous beast:
(Image removed from quote.)

How can you abandon that, it's so

That's an older pic. It's got Wave/Charge scissors in now, which work better on that frame  ;)

Shall I reserve this for you if it goes on the sell list then?  :P :D
No, I'm done with the PST :D and its sad that those scissors did not work they looked monstrous...

 I never replied to this

Those scissors are currently in the Switchplier (see my comparison thread of new vs old in the SOG forum  :tu:

The Tuition? Interesting choice. Why that one?

By elimination, don't like combo edges and I like my knives simple.

Flippers are fun and the blade shape helps with folks that are scared by pointy things.

For me, keep the UKPK and XS. For you, keep the Wings and the Tern x2.  :tu:

Not at all. I love my Dragonfly and Mini Grip.

While I like the blade shape of the Tern I prefer the look of the thumb hole over the teardrop.

Vagnino looks nice however the XS appears to have a better choil and more accommodating handle. Simple done well just works for me.

First off, none of these are really large blades ;)

Since you already have chosen two I would say definitively keep one of the EAB, they serve a bit a different function with the replaceable blade.

Then its between the Tern and the UKPK and it appears you use the Tern more so keep that. Also I agree that the UKPK will be easier to sell. Since I have 5 copies of my main knife :D I say keep both Terns. That way you will not have to worry and you can switch knife if you don't have time to sharpen.
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

Especially as you have decided on what other 2 to keep. I think the UKPK makes a great edc folder...

I'm a bit subjective, as I'm not a big fan of tacticool folders - except some Spydercos and most Ken Onion designs (Kershaw Leek & Co, CRKT Ripple etc.)

As far as I can see,the things you should keep are the Sideclip(you will want to replace it,and there arn't cheap ones anymore!); a Spirit, not over fussed which one; and a bunch of SAKs

Of the folders, I'd keep the following:

Vagnino Zipslip
CRKT Mah Liong #5
Byrd Wings Slipit
Boker XS
CRKT Van Hoy Snaplock

Some for the design, some for the utility, some for the rarity...
