I feel the same way, just a little uncomfortable not knowing how exactly capable Squirt is.
The purpose of this challenge is to find out, hopefully I would feel a lot more secure after the challenge.

However I quote rule three of the competition to you:

I believe that is a photo of a Squirt in a reply from you - Therefore I declare you in the Challenge - And have updated the list accordingly   

Don't enter me in the list, I just wanna be in the challenge to show how capable the S4 is. It's not much of a challenge because it's mostly all I carry anyway when I'm out and about, but it's a very capable and compact tool that is up to most tasks.

So by rule three again - I believe that you need to be on the list too - as you are partaking in the challenge - So I have added you too - Subject to Kampfer's approval. I added 'no GAW' after your name - Is that correct?

Dang, I guess you got me! However, I do carry an ES4 at work mostly, due to having the Surge pliers (Which I guess I won't be using very much), so will update the list accordingly. Wouldn't want Smaug and IHTK to feel too lonely!

So, a little tip I have discovered that I have not seen anywhere else.

Want to cut something hardish like wire or a paperclip on your ES4 (Or PS4...?), but don't want to smurf your main cutting edge?
Seen the little notch where the spring engages the head?





As long as you keep pressure against the wire opposing the plier head, I have seen no damage and the piece does not twist and force the pliers apart

Nice one TR - Funnily enough - I just noticed that notch when I was checking out my PS4 prior to the Challenge

That is a great tip too - Although not sure I fancy using a pin as a toothpick 

Thanks for the rule clarification - But I think I might go and get regular tps anyway - otherwise I will feel I have cheated!

Re Q2. Still not sure whether you mean
'OK - Fiddling with other tools is allowed', or ....
'OK - Fiddling is not allowed!'

For me - I will exclude other tools from fiddling - Otherwise again - I will feel like I cheated...

Alright, early in the morning, eager to start the challenge, I used the PS4 for a really really easy task - making its own short lanyard.

As promised earlier, a shot of my beautiful Squirt P4, with it's lanyard. It's only 11.29 am here, so haven't used it for anything yet - besides, I'm not working today, so I'll problably won't use it all today.
Either way, I'm ready for the challenge. Bring it on!

So this morning, the very first day of this challenge, I needed to fix a window handle at home.
I honestly tried with the squirt, but the screws are too big for it (its phillips screw driver got marked, in fact). I reverted to a Victorinox SwissTool. So we have just discovered that a SwissTool is more heavy duty than a Squirt, would you believe that?

Here's me dropping off the challenge, I failed at the first occasion ;(

Why not using a normal screwdriver, you may ask? because the swisstool one was near, and it is a perfect one for the screws we've around here in Italy, and probably Europe.

EDIT: also because that's what I would have used anyway

It's hard to believe the Squirt won't manage that O_O. I've unscrewed far larger ones with my Micra, so I'd think these are a piece of cake for the PS4...

What can I say... it almost didn't turn at all, the driver was slipping, it got marked and I didn't insist...\

I'll keep carrying only the squirt nonetheless, it's a funny challenge

I missed my surge at work today. This morning I had to go back to the workshop and fetch a junior hacksaw and file to use instead, and this afternoon a bigger pair of pliers as the squirts weren't big enough for the task. I know I use my surge a lot, but I'm now beginning to realise just how much.

Thankfully I go on holiday in a week till almost the end of the month, so the challenge gets much easier for me

Maybe the OP or a mod can post a link to the page where the actual challenge starts (from 1st Sept) in the very first post so that whoever is interested in the challenge can skip the discussion that took place before the actual challenge

I guess this thread will be a paradise for the people who're looking to buy a PS4 or just enjoy looking at pictures
