RangerGrip 79 or Forester? (why? please comment)
on: November 09, 2015, 07:36:54 PM
Guys, help me here, I got the RangerGrip 79 which I really like but it's kind of bulky, the blade is not "thin" like the standard Victorinox, I'm not sure if I care about one-hand opening and I don't like the first cm not sharpened, I love the all-around feeling and the size of the blade (which again, compared to the large Victorinox doesn't differentiate much, maybe 1/2 cm).

I also have a Centurion, bought because of the price etc. which I really like, I don't mind the reverted lock, I like the blade, the feeling etc.

Now, my question to you that probably tested both of the one listed in the poll, why would I give up the RangerGrip 79 for a Forester? Will it be a fair trade in terms of "good knife"?

I only use it for fun, camping etc. I like to have one with me at all time.

Thanks.

I have a 178 and Forester. like both but if had to carry one all the time, the Forester wins. No OH blade makes for easier sawing too.

Forester is  8) 8) 8)

Toting one today.....

Thanks for the votes and the reply.

I just noticed the red/black version of the Forester, the one I like, doesn't have tweezers and toothpick. I don't care much about the toothpick but I've used the tweezers many times. Why Victorinox does that? They also don't make an EvoGrip version 18 (with the new can opener) without the locking blade, not sure why again.
