First try at roasting my own coffee beans. I slow roasted the beans in a carbon-steel pan. I think I got to a "Full City Roast".

(Image removed from quote.)

Will let the beans cool and 'rest' and try making a brew tomorrow morning.  :tu:

That's awesome!  :tu:  Let us know how it tastes!

Very nice! Roasting your own beans is extremely fun. Unless you roast the wrong own beans  :ahhh
I'm very curious how the coffee turns out, keep us posted!

This morning's coffee was fantastic. The real revelation was the intoxicating aromas that the fresh ground beans had. Simply addictive.

Made coffee with a French Press. To really extract the flavors. Delicious. I think I'm converted to home roasting.

I was sold after my first try. It's fun to do, the smell in house is terrific and you get an awesome cup of coffee for your trouble.

One time, my brother-in-law and I drove to his former hometown near Sarajevo. As soon as we crossed the border he stopped the car and said we were going to have some coffee. Real coffee, he said, he hadn´t had one for months. It turned out to be Turkish coffee. We were not supposed to put any sugar into it, instead, we put a lump of sugar in our mouths and then drank the coffee. I liked it a lot.

Edit. Of course Sarajevo is not in Turkey but the people there drink Turkish coffee anyway.
