Handyman, Espresso, Music and Pepernoten

I'm working on training manuals today, so I need to focus.
Music to drown out my colleagues and a cup of coffee to get the creative juices flowing.
And pepernoten because it was Sinterklaas yesterday.

Making coffee at work. French Press today.

Weighing out coffee

My colleagues say I look like a junkie with that mini scale.
All I need now is a mini digital thermometer to keep track of the brew temperature!
The stuff I go through to get a perfect cup of coffee!

After four minutes it's time to press.
The Handyman lends a... hand canopener.

Handyman hanging on for dear life

I used a less scientific method: a handful of beans, ground up, then tossed in boiling water for a couple minutes. A shock of cold water to settle the grounds. Drink.

Oh, haha. Much less time-consuming too I recon!
I've never tried that method though. How do you apply the shock of cold water? Do you add some?

Love your cup by the way!

Mac, yes. Just toss a half-cup of cold water onto the brewed coffee. This helps the coffee grounds settle to the bottom (mostly, it ain't a perfect technique).

The brewing method I described--in a succinct manner--is sometimes called "Cowboy Coffee".  Surprisingly, it's really good.   :tu:

The Hercules which I hope to sell soon and a brand new dark roast. After this, it's gonna be medium size roast for a smoother taste.
