I'm about halfway through now. I wish he had someone else write for him - As much as I respect and admire him and love his practical writing, when he's not describing bushcraft stuff it reads very flat- badly written, cliched and preachy (to me at least).

I'm really enjoying his interactions with indiginous people - that's where the book shines - I'll just skip through the personal bits I think.

Hopefully I'll be finished in time for my Yuletime haul of books and I'll pass it on to eamo (we have rockers, metallers and rudeboys on the forum, now we have an emo).

no panic, i'm travelling for the next couple weeks and i doubt i'll get time to read much until jan :)

so home alone just me n my puppys, supping coffee - should have posted this early but the travel channel (UK freeview) seems to be running a ray mears marathon, just watched him shaping a paddle with an axe . . . .  to have even a fraction of his skill and talent . . . .
