Guys, in the absence of no one wanting to read Rays book, it has taken a detour to a non member (my other half, who does indeed own her own MT) and so Ray is currently back in the UK temporarily.

Kevin, pm me your address - not sure if i still have the packing Dolly travelled in or not (ie, with your address), so send it on to me - life has been real hectic these last couple weeks, so might be well into next week before it hits the postbox.

Coincidentally, I just found out about half an hour ago that Ray Mears was speaking at the UK Bushcraft show a few months ago.

I've never actually heard of the UK Bushcraft Show before today, but according to Google maps it's 4.4 miles from my front door

That sounds like my kind of show. I wish there was something similar close to where I live.

I'm just amazed I don't know anything about it! I've even been to the venue a few times when nephews and nieces have visited.

Drive past the place all the time lol.

I'm very close to Ashby de la Zouch, 5 miles or so. Both my kids went through school there and I worked there for a while in the noughties.

The castle is OK. Not much of it left though and the custodian wouldn't let me fly my drone over it - booo.

The best thing to come from Asbhy is McVities biscuits :D

Nah it vwas COOOLL! We gotto go up a half-ruined keep (quite freaky when you have been through 13,000 earthquakes) then in an underground tunnel.

Also, when I did jury duty, an associate of the defendant came from there.  :D
That was an interesting case... involving VW Kombis, racehorses, antique farm machinery, Irish gypsies and a homosexual affair with horse trainers....
