Agreed Tony - it's probably personal taste but I love Blue transparent and Silvertech scales. But some of the translucent colours available are quite something. I never quite understand camo scales because I suspect I'd struggle to find a SAK with them in any undergrowth. But the good news with a Spartan is you can get another while you search

Hi Dan,
      I never bothered to find a name.  It was always there at the corner of the porch.  It is about 12 feet tall and 8 feet across and needs trimming.  It is absolutely covered with white flowers.  The bugs like it a lot.  I hate to trim the thing, because it makes you itch all over from the contact.  A hot shower after you finish cutting generally cures that.  Best wishes.  G

Ah, very cool. I really want some plus scales to put on a few models. Angler, Deluxe Tinker, Climber Deluxe, etc. I don't have a vice at home though, so I hope I can just press them on with brute force :ahhh Can't wait to see your serrated Spartan Plus!

I actually like Vic's serrated blades the best of the choices out there.  They're wicked cutters and not bad to sharpen when you finally have to.

Yes you may be able to put on a table and press real hard. You can feel it. Hold up to the light, almost no sunlight shining through. If you use tool, squeeze Real carefully and always use a cloth so as not to mar the scale.

   I'm back online for Spartan Saturday.  Internet wasn't working yesterday.  Could have been because of all the space junk that has fallen here.  Or maybe one of the tree-climbing giant lizards.  Do you suppose the two are related?  Probably not.  Evidently the lizard is called a tegu and comes from South America.  The coyotes will likely clean them out if they don't stay in the trees.  I saw a dead one yesterday.  Of course, it might have been something that one of the kids brought to school.   It was very close to the school property.  Best wishes.  G
