It heard that term before in reference to a ex’s new  possessive partner!😜

I always believed since mine was always on my right side; in the car, at the table, in bed, on the couch, even walking the neighborhood or shopping,   She does wore out that ear, until nerve no longer functioned.

Actually I learned two years after her passing it was actually a benign tumor that swallowed up the auditory nerve on the right side.  Yet, it did stop growing when it was discovered  :dunno: :dunno:

Actually I do believe over years of working close with ones wife, your hearing does become desensitized to THIER frequency  and tone. Which can be dangerous if not corrected.
