Will Victorinox ever do a mini plier based tool?

Think of how awesome a red alox Squirt type tool would be!   I like my Squirt but I like the quality of Victorinox better. I'm sure they would be a big seller for them too.

I'd personally like to see something smaller then the Spirit.

I have been wanting this far years now. Wrote to Victorinox a few times about it. A Juice sized tool as well as a Squirt sized tool would be great.

I'd buy a Squirt sized MT as long as they made the pliers as large as possible (within the constraints of the overall size).  Maybe they should buy Leatherman out so they could use the LM Mini patents  :pok:   You know, like they did with Bear & Son so they could make the SwissTool with outside opening tools  :D

A Juice size MT with all the tools accessible from outside, and a thumb stud on main blade will be nice.

Heck....I take a step back, an OHO blade or a thumb stud on a Spirit main blade will be nice.

Speaking of Bear, they did make a mini Bear Jaws that is keychain size that Vic probably has or had the patent to. I have pocket carried my Spirit for short bursts, but something between that and the mini Bear Jaws would be nice for regular pocket carry.  :tu:

The LM mini is cool too, but too fiddly, all that folding. Like the LM Crunch, a good idea, but too much assembly/setup before using.

What are the opinions on Vic's Mechanic model pliers ?
(Compared to LM Squirt  or LM Juice pliers)

The Squirt pliers are about the same size but you get more gripping force due to the handles vrs. the small lever that operates them on the 91mm Vic.

The Juice is miles above. Very capable pliers for their size.

The Vic Pliers are more or less glorified tweezers. I have a set on my Hercules and they are good for smaller items and nuts/bolts. I wouldn't go any bigger than that. The plier issue could be solved by carrying a pair of slipjoint pliers .

Vic pliers are more suited for electronics and forceps type of use than typical mechanical work. That said, they are precise and well-built.

I swear I havent given up on this idea, but I keep changing my mind about how to retain the pliers closed. I might just build one already and use an o-ring to hold down the pliers at the thumb area...

Balisong type latch?

Balisong type latch?
I was thinking something like a simple bail style latch. There is some tang exposed. All that may be needed is a second liner for clearance and filing a small channel across the handle so the latch wouldn't wouldn't slip. Something simple like this. http://i01.i.aliimg.com/img/pb/424/898/493/493898424_109.jpg
and could be even simpler. Some round rod (heck a bent and shaped split ring) formed into a U shape with the ends bent inward would suffice.
