It is only the line side of the tap that is anti clock to tighten on gas, so non gas things can't be connected.

My work is next to a scrap metal processing site. I've spied skips full of empty gas bottles  :ahhh, wonder if I could score some off them?

Picked up a discarded wheel last week. Cut the tyre off today. Should make a good base.

Hmm, as expected, they don't sell scrap to the public, and as I don't actually know anyone who works there, I don't have an inside contact. Oh well, will just have to keep an eye out elsewhere...

They are made out of 9kg gas bottles (the same as the others are using).
Someone asked the manufacturer if they can make sea mine ones on the Facebook page where I saw these. I think he said "sure, if you can find a sea mine".

The Mine with Porthole door is pretty sweet. Quite a visual conversation piece for a home too!

A friend bought along a gas bottle that had been on a fire  :dwts:  and asked if I could make him a BBQ
Here it is after some work


Looks like this now with an easy carry handle  ;)


Opens level so you have a wider working area
