Eating kit
on: October 15, 2015, 08:23:46 PM
I have been having a few outdoor lunches lately, and tend to take too little eating utensils for camping. (I have lots of it, I just forget to bring it) People look weird at me when I use wooden sticks for stirring my tea or a y shaped twig as a fork.
So i put together this little kit for civilised  use:
It contains a spoon (the CRKT eatn tool didnt fit) , a foldable fork, a foldable knife, 2 napkins, a few tea pack of my favourite tea and a few sweeteners.

If I just remember to bring it, I can even eat junk food with proper utensils :D

While it's a very nice kit (and it really is.  :tu:) ...

We need to improve the name for marketing purposes.

How about Tactical Caloric Consumption Module?  :D

You are right!
A TCCM kit do sound so much better!

I should probably splash some camo paint on the box too.

This is great!
I love the idea of developing kits for so many activities. I think I'd like to make a few myself!

Nice kit, smart way to keep all those things

Me:"Can you pass me the TCCM?"
buddy: "The what?"
Me: "The Tactical Caloric Consumption Module"
buddy: "the whatdidyousay?"
Me: "The Tactical Caloric Consumption Module"
Buddy: "huh?"
Me: "the shiny box with the eating utensils"
Buddy: "oh that one, why didnt you say so right away..."

I need to do something similar for my tramping (hiking) eating gear.
These are popular: http://www.lightmyfire.com/products/products/mealkit-20.aspx

those kits are usually quite bulky.
I usually get by with a bowl,a plate and a cup.

Still looks like it takes up a bit much space and contains more stuff than what I need. But thats just my opinion.

Id love to read what you think of it if you get one.

I like how it all packs away within itself but I already have a bowl, plate, spork etc that I want to continue using so I just need to figure out a clever way to bundle those together.

I just pack it with the food, so that i can put food inside the bowl and cup etc. To save space. The spork I keep in my jacket pocket or in the lid of the backpack, where the TCCM will be stored.

Your ideal has me looking at pencil tins...

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B013GDV7RC?keywords=spongebob%20pencil%20tin&qid=1445198212&ref_=sr_1_1&sr=8-1

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E7JE2X6?keywords=pencil%20tin&qid=1445198051&ref_=sr_1_13&sr=8-13

The longer tin would allow for normal flatware, shortened chopsticks and perhaps a Vic paring knife.

That would be even more civiliced. :)
