While the Boss Lady is off taking care of her father,   I'm sitting at home building Lego.
Stopped by a Dollar General today and saw a Lego War Machine and it just hopped into my cart.
Anyhow, it was a good way to spend an hour or so this afternoon.

I'm not normally a fan of big figure Lego builds (they often look clunky to my eye) but that one works well.  :tu:

It's not that big, Gareth.  The figure is a standard Lego mini fig.

I said I was not going to fall into the Lego Rabbit Hole again. Now I have these sets...and they are just the ones awaiting their initial assembly.

I'm trying not to get any new sets as I have a ridiculous backlog to build already, mostly on hold due to not having somewhere to store them after building.

I see the new Lego star wars advent calendar is out but I didn't see anything overly interesting in it and seems like it's 35€ everywhere so I think I'll pass as I only paid 19€ last year...

The Star Wars stuff is of zero interest to me, either. But one great thing about Lego is that they can be broken down to component level for ease of storage and transportation. They apparently have a tendency to multiply; I bought another two sets after that photo was taken. And there will be more to come.

I guess so! Ditto with the money to buy them. Some of the asking prices for sets I had as a kid make just about me sick.

About half my kits are star wars. Recently a lot of technic and ideas sets.

I've been eyeing the architecture sets, but probably only cities we lived in, so Paris and London.

I saw a Statue of Liberty set at Meijer this weekend. Sadly, ~$200 wasn't justifiable. But I intend to tackle that enormous Eiffel Tower someday. And maybe I'll find a Robie House at a somewhat sane price.

I managed to snag it on limited deal for £24.  I wouldn't have been prepared to spend any more.

One of the hypermarkets we shop at usually has a 60% cashback on Lego just before Christmas. Last time I got the regularly priced at 130 Audi kit for about 60... amongst some other kits... expecting more of the same if we're here for it.

There's often the buy one get on at 50% from other places that can be tempting as well

OMG check out this aliexpress brick seller (GoBricks reseller) named "Eske Kouri" which is apparently a reputable store that many people like (for good lego alternative)

https://www.aliexpress.com/store/1102341772/pages/all-items.html?productGroupId=40000004209377&spm=a2g0o.store_pc_home.pcShopHead_2003803763727.1_1&storeId=1102341772&sortType=bestmatch_sort&shop_sortType=bestmatch_sort

scroll through the pages and GASP~! Cool sets and mocs for sale at nice prices.

-Caution ignore non GoBrick/other stores aliexpress tries to lure you to with the same pictures and even cheaper prices which are probably lower quality. GoBricks is really getting popular with quality and price. I luv Lego and have a lot but I also like good alt bricks and they are really getting better  ;)

IKR! I'm going to order the ED209 and the GunStar (the larger versions).  but what I've read about Eske Kouri store is popular for mocs. Their are other interesting stores/places to get nice mocs but that one has good reviews and history who use GoBricks.

This will be (for me, anyway) a pretty ambitious build.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

I may focus on Technic. That line had tremendous appeal to a younger Farmer X.

I'd love to stick to just one... as is my collection is rather varied, and the more recent stuff includes Ideas, Icons and Technic kits... Not to mention my Star Wars mandalorian related...

I can certainly understand why you have a varied collection; Lego makes a lot of neat stuff. Since my storage space and funds aren't limitless, focus is probably a wise move. The only question is what to do with the non-Technic sets that remain unopened.

Well, my mech robots came in today.  Haven't opened it up yet because I've got 3 other kits to build first.

I'll post pics in the alt. block thread as I complete them.

That looks like a nice set. Despite my focus on Technic, I'll be tempted...especially since 29 November will be a payday.

My wife simply hates for me to go into Walmart, unsupervised.  Stopped by the other day and saw the   Creator 3in1 camera kit and decided that I needed one.
Quick build, with  around 250 pieces, and it reminds me of my old Pentax Spotmatic camera from the old days.

That's a nice build. My first thought when I saw that set at Meijer was that my nephew and niece probably won't have any idea what it represents.
