Three words; release the Kraken  >:D

(Image removed from quote.)

Two words; Fire torpedos

One word; Ha (you can't touch me) :neener:

And before you say that's more than one word: a) I was trying to explain, help you understand and b) I may have cheated a little.

My youngest got some star wars lego for her birthday, i got so excited when i noticed it had 4 stormtroopers  am i sad  :D
I was they made some War Hammer 40k Lego sets. Some Chaos Space Marines would be cool.

That's us mobile.

Better put it right again.

I love Lego - Used to spend hours building robots. The minifigures came on the scene as I got to the age where I was 'too old' to play with it, but as soon as my daughter was old enough I had an excuse again. Endless eternal fun.  Great thread mercury :tu:

I think we may get away with it.

Big Lego fans in my family - All three of us - My wife, my boy (6) me. Iam not even siure who is the biggest fan!!

Strange thing was I was not a Lego kid (my younger brother was) - I did Mechano and wooden blocks  - Not sure why that was.

I only got into Lego when I started working on a project for Lego in Billund in Denamark about 8 years ago  - What a nice project that was - And how lucky was I !!  :D
We were allowed to go to the staff shop where everything was 50% - 60% list price.
I bought my brother the biggest kit (in # pieces) that Lego ever made at the time
The Ultimate Colllectors Edition Millenium Falcon - 10179
Even with the staff discount - I thought it was crazy money at the time - But I wish I had bought two - Now they are going for about $5k on ebay!!

Could not resist posting again this Lego mod that my boy did a year or so

You must be having a great day then.

The technical sets are good, but my fear is that the pieces are becoming too speSmurfpillsed.

I have a friend who buys only the technics kits, I can only  as they are well out of my price range... but I would enjoy building them!

I credit Lego for a good part of my metal development.

This is MANY MANY years ago so some blocks had to be re-shaped with a soldering iron to build my version of the Tale of the Golden Monkey plane (Grumman sea plane)........hours and hours of entertainment.  8)

This thread took off!  Sweet!

Now I have some solid evidence to show the wife as I someday click "order" on that 75105 Millenium Falcon...

After all this lego talk, I totally want some star wars lego sets just for me, and my boy has no idea what kind of lego gifts he will be getting from now on.  I have to make up for the fact that I didn't have my original set to give him because I gave them to my cousin when I started college.  I had a huge castle set from the late 80's/early 90's and I am trying to find it again online.

I feel much better now, I wasn't sure if I had yet another weird addiction or if this one is normal!  I'm dying to get the rest of the Jurassic World sets for him, just so he has them all.  He's such a good little boy too, it's been a week since I build the large set for him, and it's intact!  He only lost 1 minifig in papa's car(I am going to order it separtely), the rest of the set still looks new.  His little sister breaks it and he puts it back together.  I think the next 7-10 years will be a ton of fun for all of us!

Lego art is a thing. Many people have made impressive pieces of work with it, like the guy that recently presented a model of the Vatican.

There's also this French guy who made some cute scenes using Lego, I can't make out the name, it's on the pics.

I have a small number of things I keep around my 'workstation', aka coffee table, to fiddle with while thinking. One of them is a little Lego car with driver (which seems to have wandered off), and a number of minifigs.

I got Darth Maul when Ep 1 came out, and got the Dino Tracker when we had the Spam competition to reach a million posts.

Legos are always awesome. And seeing female figs in action toy series (as opposed to 'girl' Lego) makes me very happy.

Also, I should note, the above posted pic of the AT-ATs is awesome.  :tu:

My son is 2.5 and has plenty of Duplo to cut his teeth on. Starting to give him some of the random sets I accumulated since college at office secret Santa and such. Not sure how I will handle giving all those sets to him in a few years. I might be a little protective, but I guess it is an excuse for me to play with them again!!

My son has just gotten into Lego. I used to play with it a lot when I was a kid, and have been waiting for this moment, drooling in the toy stores.
Yesterday I stopped by a store to see what was on the market, and I discovered that the Lego shelves where half empty. I talked to the manager, and she told ne there was a Lego "krisis" going on.
Lego has suddenly become very popular again and it has taken off in asia. Lego just cant produce enough to keep the shelves full.
She was worried that she might not get the Lego she had ordered 6montgs ago before christmas. Lego had told her that she would not get any more Star Wars lego until early 2016, when the new Asian Lego plant was ready. As she said it: "maybe then europe will get some too"

go to the site "BrickLink" .com to find anything! (from parts to kits) I've gotten lots from them, I have Speed Racer's Mach 5 and home-made Batmobile under the monitor :P

I will check that out, thanks!  It would be cool to have that set again.  One thing is for certain though, lego got much more expensive than it was when I was a kid.  Not to worry though, my boy will still be getting his fair share of sets.  I am really looking forward to getting some star wars lego sets soon.  I've been browsing the Lego site, and there are ton of other sets I want to get my hands on as well.

if you buy the sets "used" you save a lot as opposed to "unopened" even sets with missing parts/pieces are no problem just find out which parts are missing (often they tell you before buying) and buy them separate ;)

one word of caution, some parts smell like smoke (cigarette)  I wash em when I get them first!

I admit my love for the little ABS bricks.

Last night, I tolerated a sea of screaming, whining, greedy little beggers for one of the seasonal sets for this year. Amazon's price is nuts for 40090, but Toys R Us has it for $4.
