That's cool.  I didn't know that minifig existed.

Lego issues series of minifigures every few months or so - About 12 minifigs in each series
They come in sealed packets - So it is pot luck - as to which one you get - Unless you grope the packets.  :o They are not part of any set!!

This one is part of series 14 - Who are all monsters of some sort - And I think this is the current series - So you can get him now !!

I think it is slightly exploitative by the Lego company
However simliar to issuing a limited edition SAK !!  :o

And they are great !!!

I think my most recent "official" Lego buy was one of the blind bags, ended up with the Valkyrie-looking figure out of Series 12. Before that I ordered a "Shaun of the Dead" figure from GI Brick. http://www.gibrick.com/shaun-2014.html
I had lots of sets from the late 70s,  80s, and thru the mid 90s. It ebbed off a lot after that, and it took a lot to get my interest with one of the Toy Story check lane bags with the little green army man and a Jeep.

I'm gutted that the only way to get Sabine (star wars rebels cartoon) with her Mando helmet is by getting the imperial troop transport... the other set she's in only has her with her hair, no helmet  :ahhh

I could get one pulled from a set off fleabay, but it's a low move by lego to sell a rather pricey set.

My wife is currently hooked on the Lego Dimensions computer game, which is a combination of on-screen and building Lego in real life. So our living room has gotten a lot of small figures and vehicles around the custom control unit which comes with the game. :)

My son is addicted to legos.  He really loves minifigures and has a couple hundred easy.  He makes these elaborate battle scenarios. lol.

The series 14 figures came out and I ordered him a complete set from ebay.  16 of them for $77.  Seems steep but that is less than I spent on series 13 by buying a few at a time until we got them alll, since there are in sealed packages so its a mysetery what you get.

Given how much my daughter loves all the Lego games she has on the Wii I think that one would be a big hit.  Sadly I suspect it wouldn't work on our old Wii.  Perhaps need to look at upgrading to a Wii U. :-\

mystery packs must be both frustrating and disappointing for kids, especially if they end up getting the same couple figures over and over...

Ya we used to make a routine of it.. if he was good I took him to the mall and he could pick a couple.  That store actually would label the backs though so you could pick the characters you wanted.  I didnt know they did this though and had already spent lots on the same figures over an over... :D

Well hell, now I wanna lego Avatar!!!  My first few minifigs aren't here yet though, I have to wait a few days.  I can't use my sons minifigs, those are his.  They're his.  Not daddy's.  Don't do it.  They're awesome.  I want them all!

I decided to begin with the Harry Potter series minifigs.  I got a Harry with Wand and the 2011 comic con Harry/voldemort minifigs on ebay last night.  I also have to find a Jurassic World figure for my son, first thing he did was lose Grey(the little kid) in his grandparent's car.

Gah... okay, it's too weird.

I have to change my Avatar back. It's like I don't recognize myself, and it's causing identity issues. :D

For future reference, THIS is the pic that briefly replaced the pressed fairy pic...

One of the few Lego minifigs which has print on the side of the legs -- the pockets of the cargo pants aren't always present in a good number of figures.

It was part of a haul of goodies I won here from the very generous Etherealicer.
http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,56520.0.html

I clearly remember my first minifigs I got as a kid with spaceship sets. Red dudes that otherwise looked like 'Benny' from the Lego Movie. Little space logo, 'scuba tanks', face shield on helmet that was inevitably lost, and a generic smiley face. Now, facial expressions, hair, and awesome coolness.

Edit: Maybe related...

EDIT to the EDIT: I think my first set with mini figs was 497 Galaxy Explorer. Wow... randomly showed up on the same search as the above pic.

G'Day,

Another Lego collector and builder.

I'm not into the mini figurines but love the Technic series. Lego has come a long way since I bought my first set back in the '80's. The latest sets with radio control, pneumatics and winches are fantastic. Alas, not cheap though. I have run out of space on my piano to show the various sets.

Let the pics talk!!!

Cheers, and build on :D
