It's Star Wars Advent Calendar time again!  As I've done before I'll try and I.D these as they come and not resort to looking them up.  This will test how good the model is and the level of my Star Wars geekery. :D  An easy start for me today with a pretty good version of The Ghost from Star Wars Rebels (and a cameo in Rogue One).

Barely started and am already playing catch-up. :doh:  OK, so yesterday we got our first Mini-fig of the year and it's a bit of a good one; it's Sabine Wren.  Again she is a character from the cartoon series "Rebels".  Shame she didn't come with an additional blaster or a Mandalorian helmet, but not bad for all that.

This morning took a little more head scratching but, knowing they often group things together by film etc., I managed to I.D this as being the Phantom.  It's a fighter/shuttle pod that docks with the Ghost (from day one).  Not their strongest model I'd say, but there's always tomorrow to look forward too.

AFAIK, she only comes with a helmet in the 75106 Imperial Assault Carrier kit. You'd think she'd have a helmet for Ezra's speeder kit  :think: but apparently safety on a open vehicle is not as important in lego...  :facepalm:

I was a huge fan of Legos as a boy. And Lincoln Logs. And Tinker Toys. Even Legos competition (at the time) called Brix Blox. I never got into the "sets." They limited me  building a specific toy.

We used to build little towns. Legos were the brick houses, obviously Lincoln Logs were wood. Tinker Toys always seemed to be the space station or crazy giant motorcycle.

This thread takes me way back.

What a piece of junk!  :D

When people say that about my big old Blazer, I just tell them "She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts!"

Anyone who gets the reference may ride with me. The door may not close all the way, but they may ride.

So on to day 4 and it's...a gun.  Definitely a gun.  I just have no idea to whom it belongs specifically.  The feel is Clone/Empire/First Order, but even that's a guess.  I'll go look it up now and put the answer in a Spoiler box below.  Quite cleaver use of extra bits to build up a blaster into something more though.

Guess what?  No one else seems to have a specific film or side for this either.  I do feel better. :D

That was my first thought as well, BUT this has a much more distinct upper "barrel" piece and has four legs rather than three.  I can't say for sure of course.  Interestingly this has a clear disc to act as a stand, which they have used before to suggest hovering.  A hovering Blaster? :shrug:  I don't know TBH, but there's no need for it to be there as it stands up perfectly well without it.  More digging required. :D

Today we got another Minifigure, who I think is Cassian Andor (sp?) from Rogue One.  Not a lot to distinguish this chap from any other Rebel fighter to work on and I'm basing my guess on the stubbly beard.  One thing to note is the baster is a dark grey rather than the usual black.

Day six brings us another spaceship.  I'm pretty sure it is a First Order troop transporter, though if it has a more specific name I don't know it.  Actually a pretty detailed mico build and a lot more to it than might be obvious at first glance.

Oops, another late day.  :whistle:  Yesterday we got a very standard First Order Stromtrooper.  The fact he didn't get a blaster was a big clue as to what was coming next.

A...toolbox?  A weapons rack?  Finn's sanitation trolley?  You always get a right duffer build like this in the Star Wars Calender, it's practically a tradition.  Ah well, it can only get better from here.

Well thank goodness, we are back on form.  Today we got Rey's speeder from Force Awakens.  Cracking little micro build that was easy to ID from the first second of seeing it.

I'm really rubbish at this idea of one pic a day, aren't I? :-[  So here's a snap of yesterday and today side-by-side.  On the left we have a minifigure of...that guy...you know...him.  OK, I admit it, other than knowing we are getting Force Awakens themed builds ATM I've no idea who he is.  The crowbar he gets makes me think he might be a junker from Jakku.  On the right we have the much more recognisable pack droid that, most notably, was the ride of Teedo when Rey and BB8 first meet.  Cracking good wee build BTW.  I'll go have a peek in a sec to see if these two have better names than I've come up with.

Show content
So the minifig seems to be called Unkar's thug so I'm feeling better about my guess.  The propper name for the pack droid is a Luggabeast and apparetly isn't a droid but an animal that has been "enhanced".

From the highs of yesterday's Millennium Falcon to the lows of today.  :-\  I did recognise what it is supposed to be, but only because I've watched the deleted scenes.  It is a First Order Speeder as seen on Star Killer Base in Force Awakens being used in a chase sequence with Finn and Rey.  Here's what the instructions tell us to build;

But given it's supposed to look like this;

...I'm swapping the cones of the engines around.
