Thanks Whoey, I fell in love with GT3 RS when I drove my friends 2 years ago (and every possible chance I've had since then).

When I wanted to buy the kit they were out of stock everywhere and fetching stoopid prices on ebay  :rant:

that is the biggest problem lego has.

imagine that the company itself got those profits rather than someone who snapped up a couple kits at the initial retail price and stored them away until they became rare...

They are learning though, they introduced further batches of the Saturn V rocket and that killed off the evilbay market for them

Provided you keep them mint in box, and it turns out to be a short production run, and you're willing to sit on that for at least a few years... you possibly can make a profit. I can barely afford the kits I want for myself let alone have a bunch boxed up somewhere hoping the value will skyrocket so I can resell them  :facepalm:

The City advent calender is grabbing my attention this year.

The Star Wars one is cute, but there isn't a lot of figures there that are grabbing me and begging me to bring one home. The microbuilds are cute, but we've seen several of them before.

And the Friends one is just a rip off this year- no figures. Even if the ornament builds are adorable, but not for $30. It's a $20 set and even the it would be highish.
