Nice, John. You have some great camera skills!  :tu: You might condiser submitting a shot or two for the calendar.  :tu:

@El Corky: Dude, I worked in a Gov't facility where "knives and firearms" were prohibited. I was amazed at how many people walked around with a folder clipped in their pocket. I wasn't so bold, but awlways carried a Cadet or Compact or Ambassador (or Benchmade 940) in my pocket.  I know it's a new job and all, but ain't nobody gonna fret over a SAK.  :tu:

Compact On!  :tu:

Thanks . . . did some pro work on the side some time ago . . . commercial (on location and architectural), studio, product, etc.

Very similar thoughts for El Corkscrew:
Look though the employee handbook which you did. Absent any outright clear prohibition of anything edged, ask for forgiveness, not permission. It's not a weapon, it's a tool. My brother currently works at a state university and they prohibit anything longer than 3 inches because of multi-tools and SAKs being used routinely as tools. The difference is a clear policy and it's a reasonably sane one. If you walked in wearing a Ka-Bar or M9 bayonet, they would probably put that under the "weapon" definition. Nix is right . . . be observant for a while and you will undoubtedly see folks with folders in their pockets. Look for the clips ;-)

Totally spied the trainer with a pocket clip today.  It looked like the kind of clip that comes on a locking blade, more-threatening looking knife, so... I think I'm good... I do have to go into a lot of government buildings (jails, social security, courthouses)  with this job, so I'll have to remember to leave the SAK in the car for these joyous occasions.

I have to do a pocket dump of my carry and store it in the console if I go to the county courthouse. The one thing I almost forget about every time is the SwissCard in my wallet, and their X-ray would find it as you must do a complete pocket dump into a bucket, after removing your shoes and your belt, and everything on your wrists.

I'm a Compact fan without actually owning one. :) I have two very close relatives, the Golfer and the DofE. (The latter with Plus scales, I popped off the original, looks too nice to be carried and get beat up.)

Love that yellow, Dan!  I put a set of yellow scales on one of my Salesmen.  Wish they made Plus scales for the 84mm knives...
