Hipster tax.
I was stood behind an aging hipster in the Post Office yesterday. I should have half inched his Compact. And had a word with him about tight jeans on the over 40's.

We should make a picture contest to see who the hipsters are that are hiding in this thread.

I've been pairing the Compact up with a Skeletool CX.

When I first got the Compact, i didn't like it because it didn't work on Phillips screws. However, a little work with the Work Sharp knife sharpener and it works on Phillips screws just fine. Now I carry the Compact with me whenever carrying the Swiss Champ is inconvenient, like anywhere other than work.  :tu:

The Compact I bought around 2003 is different from the others discussed.  It has onyx scales, no pen or straight pin and the hook does not have the nail file.  I can live without the nail file, but I like having the pen and straight pin.  I thought about buying "plus" scales for it (if I can find a place that sells SAK scales), but haven't done so since I have other SAKs that have the pen/pin covered (maybe one day).  It sat in a drawer for years, until a few months ago I put it in my uniform pocket to use at work (when I don't feel like taking one of the other SAKs out of my gear bag, or if I'm not near it). At least it is now getting some use, and not just gathering dust in a drawer.  The Compact is a high quality knife (like the other SAKs) - I just wished mine came complete.

Email Central Valley Wholesale about getting some Plus scales.  They do not advertise just the scales,  but they do sell them. I purchased 10 Plus scales from them in many different colors. (Not affiliated with the company; just a happy customer)

Ah, Compact.

I'm sorry I can't add any pics, I am enjoying everyone elses though :)

I briefly owned a Waiter before someone felt they needed it more than I did.
If the opportunity ever comes up to acquire a compact, I can definitely see myself making it EDC.

Back to the beginning today. The Compact. The first one. The one that started this whole crazy addiction :D

Around 60 knives later the Compact is still my best choice to carry :tu:

These two tools are perfect companion in my opinion. Both relatively small size to pocket carry but still very capable. :)

This is how I, well to be completely honest Eddie improved my Compact.

Adding the Phillips. Mile did the scales that were later destroyed by my knucklehead dog.

I blame you all. I picked up a compact about a month and a half ago and I haven't carried any of my other SAKs or other knives since
