I made the sheath from an old 'boot liner' it came with a 'non slip' pattern  ;)
No it's not tested, I didn't over heat it and it's made from an old butchers chopper so it won't be over hard.
I'm not sure how the scandie edge will hold up in use

After a protracted dry spell in locating and purchasing examples of my addiction I came across several in the past week at yard sales and antique stores.
First up were three knives I purchased at a yard sale. A Schrade Uncle Henry 16UH pruner;an old Imperial(Frontier)2 blade folding hunter and a Steel Warrior(new one to me)jigged bone trapper. These three set me back $25 US.
I also found a beautiful pearl handled carving set in the original box by Hibbard;Spencer;&Bartlett;a carver,a serving fork and a sharpening steel. These cost me $37 US,

My last find was a small custom folder by a man named Frank Carlisle of Detroit Michigan USA. It was in an antique shop mounted on a board with a bunch of inexpensive old shell handled pocket knives. The fancy file work caught my eye as did the turquoise inlay on the handle. I wasn't familiar with the name even though I live fairly close to Detroit and know many of the knife makers(at least by name)in the area.I decided to buy it for the price of $27 US.
Tried researching the name in my reference books but only came up with a mention of him in a knife annual dated 2000. Brought it to show a friend who is more familiar with knife makers(he is one himself)and he vaguely recalled Frank being a member of the Wolverine club and displaying at their shows. He thought he may have passed away as he hadn't seen him in awhile.
When I told him what I had paid for the knife he opined that it probably sold for a couple hundred dollars when it was new and I got a great deal! Made my day!

Thanks for the kind words. For some reason there isn't a lot of interest in carving sets so they don't really command the prices I think they should. I have several really beautiful ones including a Landers,Frary,&Clark Aetna Works set with incredible stag handles capped in sterling silver in a beautiful fitted case.Probably close to a hundred years old.
