I might have resisted working on the knife but the lanyard loop it came with begged for a custom knot.

7.5cm blade edge. So far it's a good working blade. I will probably add a cutout to the handle to allow easier opening.

Awesome! How do you like it? I own two Grip's, but no Mini Grip's. I need one some day.

I tell every Griptilian owner this...... Look into the AWT aftermarket scales. They are incredible and make your Griptilian feel like a much more expensive knife. I used to have a full write up on them. I will have to get the pictures posted again.

Link just in case you want to look.

True.  :D

I bought the "blemish" kit for $49.95. It is darker than the original which I actually like more anyways so it was perfect.

So I was told the Mini Grip is a different knife to my plain Griptillian and that I should get one.

And then they made them in G10 and 20CV steel....

Fixes every comment that has been made on the Mini Grip but adds some porno color to the mix.
I wonder if this is just for the first production run?

Good solid G10 scales, same blade shape and size.

Deep carry clip and pimp standoffs and blue G10 edge.

The best recipe for steel (IMHO - same as M390 or 204P)

I'm not sure this is the right idea for the "boring" Griptillian, this is now in the higher end and missed out on the "solid practical offering at a good price" market.

Just got this massive Hugo Köller rigging/bosun knife in a small lot for a few bucks. The Barlow pattern came with, tang is worn out all I can see is the letter "A" as the last letter on line one. The Barlow is pictured for reference, it is heavily sharpened and will be my summer whittler. I plan on stripping down the Köller and refurbishing it, I should have some drops of Ipe that I'll try and make some new scales out of with some large brass pins I think it will look sharp. I stress the word try as the stuff is hard as a rock. This knife is so heavy and well built it deserves to be gone through and dressed up.

This is a stock model?

Is there a spyder hole version? Please say yes.

Yes there is, both full size and mini in hollow ground sheepsfoot with opening hole are available in the new format. But not sure it's worth 2x old ones or 3x Delicas for example.
Stock model; they may change the color as this is a first production run marked knife

I think they will run these -1 versions alongside the standard ones; would be a shame to not have a good knife in the >$100 range.

It's going to fight for pocket time with these upper end EDC knives below 3 inches.
It outclasses them all in steel and strength of locking mechanism but the build quality is equaled by the Taichung knives. You can't beat perfect.
To compete it needs a mixture of novelty and class; the others have it and I think this does too.

I need to get the basic mini grip too; direct competition to the Delica.
Other surprisingly good options cost 10-15% of the new mini grip but we are playing in a whole different class with these materials and finish.
