With the exception of Rough Rider, I usually avoid all other Chinese knives. But I've been curious about Case's China-made Tec-X brand (really, they try to separate it as much as possible from Case as a different brand entirely rather than a line (i.e. Boker Plus). Noticed Amazon had a discontinued member of the Inceptra-T series for $8 (MSRP is $28) and I figured it was worth trying at that price.  On another note, with the exception of the Chopperlock, a tactical model made years ago I forgot, and the Southern Grind rebrands, I'm surprised why Case hasn't had more tactical type knives, given Boker, Buck and even now gone makers like Schrade and Camillus have had tons.  Heck, even Queen had their failed Q-Tac line.

This model is 4.5" closed and 5.4 ounces. Seems like it will feel great in-hand and work hard.   And I'm a little confused. The still available black version of this (also serrated) Case says is AUS-8, but the description says "440".  On Case's site, the only similar Inceptra that looks the same that's 440 are the straight edge versions.

Got a package from Steve, opened it to find another package to open.  Then still another surprise package in there.  :ahhh
A beautiful mint and polished, Old Cutler Barlow.  :D :D :D :D
I always loved the brass bolsters when David and Steve would post theirs.
Thanks Steve  :salute:

Not sure who it’s really made by, but the wife gave me this knife for Christmas.

I’d say it’s a Buck 112 clone. Sure is sharp. Has a lanyard hole, which is nice. Going to try to stick a pocket clip on there.

Carolina Knife and Tool, who is owned by Gerber.   I have the Heel Spur (a large OHO folder with clip) and Stagecoach (a Small Stockman) and both are quite nice knives. Sure beats the fairly shoddy ones they used to made.  Winchester, like Remington, used to make their own knives, but haven't in 80 years.

My newest knife...

After watching a video review by Nick Shabazz, I decided to spend way more on a knife than I ever have. To me, after getting it today, I feel it is worth it.

This is a slip joint made by JE Made. S35Vn steel. Titanium scales. Nice, stiff back spring with good solid half stop.

I suggest you watch the video by Nick Shabazz. He has better pics and a great view of the knife.

Only difference is mine is not numbered as his is.

That’s a pretty nice folder. Congrats.
Something in the last pic of it open reminds me of a traditional style but can’t place it.  :tu:

Thanks guys!!  Let me tell you, I was all set to send it back. I figured it couldn’t be that great. Then I got it and opened it. I can’t quite explain the way it feels. I’m not normally a traditional slip joint guy. But this one, made with modern materials and able to be completely taken apart, won me over.

And it just feels... good in hand. Solid and quality.

I plan to carry it every day and see how I get along with it.

Thanks to Poncho I'm now the proud owner of a GiantMouse Ace Biblio...

this is such a sweet knife , designed by Jens Ansø and Jesper Voxnaes. Bohler M390 blade and carbon fiber scales. Usually it takes me weeks to decide on a knife to buy, but this, I had to have the second I saw it.
