Those are very impressive traditional knifes.  Lucky guy you are, unless you needed to spend equal $s on wife!

A short black Ka-Bar, which I keep in a paper sleeve in a drawer which I open every now and then for ventilation. (The silicone grip of my camera and lense have deteriorated because of sitting in a small space for too long without "fresh air", I don't want the same happen to my beloved knife).

Thanks SteveThere were two that ended last week. I was the only one who bid on this one for 19.95. The other went for 32 plus change. This one had been relisted several times. I decicded to bid on it because of the bolsters. Never seen Camco Barlow with bolsters like this.          :D

It was the one that sold for $32 that I was watching. I didn't notice the smooth bolsters on yours.

Camillus 21. Dean since you seem to be able to find all the hidden knife stuff. See what you can find out about this one. Its got covers like the TL-29, F&F is not up to Camillus normal standards. tang stamp is the 89 to closing tang stamp. It also has that stinky packing grease on it. Cant remember what it's called at the moment. There is a seller on the bay who has them.

You made some nice finds lately David. Camillus were not always perfect, I've got a Trapper with centered blades except for the last 3/4" of one blade and it turns to the outside liner.
I missed a #21 a couple weeks ago, it was only $10 and no one bid on it. I forgot and was busy and didn't notice the phone message.
I'll look for it in a catalog.

The #21 and #22 show up as far back as 1946.
The last #22 I saw was in 1984 catalog.
In 1994 the #21 was still being made along with the 710Y Yellow jacket.
In 1996 only the #710Y is in the catalogs.

Thank you and no it's not an auto. That would be nice if it was. It's a manual flipper with a button lock.

Another tidbit. Some of the 21's were saber ground on the mark side and flat ground on the pile side

Yup, I got it. The knife itself is in like new condition. The S30V blade itself is of course of quality. Lock up is solid, smooth deployment, no blade play. The sliding gut hook is clever. It makes a nice click sound when jamming closed. The aluminum handles are quite fancy, while making the knife look nice, the longevity is questionable, especially the rosewood inserts. I have the fixed blade Steens model, whose wood insert was chipped. These wood pieces may not make people take these solid knives seriously as heavy duty knives. I would love to have carbon fiber handle slabs instead. On the plus side, the handle is comfortable to hold when deployed. On the minus side, because of housing the gut hook while not sacrificing the blade length, about 3/5 of the blade width is outside the handle when closed, which make the closed knife "fat".

Over all, I love it. The leather knife sheath is classy as well. I would love LM to reissue these knives, probably with a thick bowie blades (like on the original SOG Tomcat).

Was gifted this today - don't know much about it except I like the logo. It's a Fox folder - like a Buck. I don't have anything like this so am interested in testing it out. Anyone shed any light on it? It seems to be solid - not Vic standards on the F&F, and some sharp edges and points on the scales/bolsters etc.
