This PAL Cutlery Co knife came in earlier today. I see PAL knives on the bay but all I can find out about them is they bought out Remington in 1940 and made knives till 1950. I hadnt really planned on winning this knife. I just put a bid on it and it turned out to be the high bid and sat there for several days and no one bid again. So here it is. While well used its still a nice knife.

David here's a little more information for you. A couple year's ago I was searching for some information for my Dad's old PAL RH-38.
The PAL RH-38's are more common so I managed a little more information.

According to The Official Price Guide of Collector Knives by C Houston Price & Mark D Zaleysky, PAL was originally used as a trademark by the Utica Knife & Razor Company of Utica, NY from about 1924-1939. PAL marked knives of that era used blades imported from Germany, and the blades typically bore the word “Germany” as well.

Another company using the name PAL was established in Chicago in 1934. This company was known as the Pal Blade Company of Chicago, and was started by Otto Kraus. In 1935 the two “PAL” companies merged into one, known simply as the PAL Blade Company, and opened a manufacturing facility in Plattsburg, NY.

Around 1940 PAL purchased the cutlery division of the Remington Arms Company, including of their existing stock of completed knives and knife parts. While PAL was originally a manufacturer of pocketknives, but after the Remington acquisition they expanded their range of products to include a variety of fixed blade knives as well.

PAL received a number of US government knife contracts during World War II and produced thousands of combat knives during the war years. Pal went out of business in 1953.The USN Mark 1 combat knife was produced by a variety of manufactures during World War II and was issued to Navy personnel by the thousands. It had a 5 ¼” long blade and was patterned after typical hunting and side knives of the era.

Hi Dean , If your knife has a 6" blade I think it's the RH-36, the 6 being the blade length. I've included a pic of mine and the page from Cole's book of military knives. The RH-37 was their version of the USN mk2 (kabar) .

It's a RH-38, that I'm sure of.
You'll find them marked 35 to 38. The 35 is the only one I like as a user. I don't have a ww2 issue 35 but I do have a Kabar Mark 1 Navy I really like.

Camillus 21. Dean since you seem to be able to find all the hidden knife stuff. See what you can find out about this one. Its got covers like the TL-29, F&F is not up to Camillus normal standards. tang stamp is the 89 to closing tang stamp. It also has that stinky packing grease on it. Cant remember what it's called at the moment. There is a seller on the bay who has them.

Nice !    :like:
