They dropped significantly here since I got mine....almost makes me wish I'd waited.  Almost  How much are they in upside-down-future-world?

Yeah that's a ridiculous price.  I paid $100 and that's honestly much higher than I should've paid, but I love it, so I don't feel too bad about it.

Happy to be checking in as part of this club, I gotta feeling my Signal will be around for a while.  I do need a new ferro rod though, mine is about used up after a few fires.  Probably need more practice with it.

Nice pic
The ferro rod can be popped out and rotated to a fresh surface, unless you've done so already.

Looks like LM does not sell just the ferro rods. You got to buy it with the whistle for $8. I've used my rod about 10 times to try and there is no noticeable wear on it other than scratch marks. I used the back side of the saw as a striker. Will post a pic later.

Yeah, I bought a new set of the yellow attachments to get the red dye job right after messing up the first set.

Ferro Rod after 20-30 strikes... 10 fires. I used pet balls, mag shavings, etc as starters so did not have to strike it that hard.

I have carried mine for a month now. Miss scissors mostly.

Have used the hammer a few times for light tapping and is useful. I did not like the hammer at first but it's growing on me. Awkward to drive nails though, but doable on small nails, with a lot of patience. The carabiner has been very useful too. While working instead of keeping it on the ground can hang it on something within reach.

My personal favorite gadget is the knife sharpener... but do not use it for sharpening. I use it as a nail nick. I chew my fingernails and have a tiny key chain pry bar attached to the lanyard loop on my MTs and use that to open tools. One day I had forgotten it and I was about to use my key instead and then saw the sharpener and that's what I have been using ever since. One less thing to carry. The only fear is I might lose it   ::)

Yet to use the Awl and Can Opener. Have had nor problem with the other tools. Having to use the driver with the tool open does not bother me. Not a fan of the tiny whistle and ferro rod. As a survival tool they should have made them more usable. I have started some fires to test it but you need some help with fire starters.

That's my report after a month of use.

Every time I see the price of the Signal (and the bracelet) I just laugh, and it's just getting worse with the exchange rate.
Truly thankful they don't awaken the must-have in me

Yes, the retail price is insane. They are targeting the $500 backpack crowd  >:( If you can get your hands on one for 30% off or better it is a nice MT.

I won't argue with the pricing issue.

I'm a huge Leatherman fan and have a ton of there tools. I got to handle a Signal today. It was built decent, but I just don't see me using an inch long Ferro rod or sharpener.  Just not functional. The whistle looked questionable as well.

I don't really see them as being your go-to solution. Remember that lots of people wont even think to bring that kind of stuff or that you might lose them. So you throw the Signal in your bag and when you realise your lighter is crapping out on you you can take out the Signal. And questionable is still miles better than none.

That said I'll stick with my belief that the Signal would have been better as the more capable cousin of the Skeletool.

Cool Signal Mod

I've got a spare Wingman Scissor and was planning on doing the Mini Surge mod but now that I have seen this I might put it on the Signal because I do not have to lose the saw. Need to figure out how to make the saw lock open.

One of my tools I haven't actually used that much. The set just seems lacking. I still like it but I guess its waiting more serious usage.
It still might be one of the looking MTs ever made and I love the lock that keeps it shut.
