Don’t forget about the pocket clip - add a few millimeters as well, though give much more usage comport at the same time

Congrats on a new tool Have you checked the liner locks? Make sure yours doesn’t have those issues mine did, especially with the saw. I fixed it easily, but had to disassemble the tool

Other than that it’s a hell of a tool. Can take a lot of beating I believe

Awesome, maybe LM figured out a way to fix that once and for all

Btw guys how do you sharpen your Signal blades? It has uneven bevels and has serrations too - every time I look at it and thinking of using the blade I change my mind because I’m not quite sure how to maintain it right

I love using a simple Victorinox 4.3323 pocket sharpener for my Work Champ and Forester - real quick and easy to make them razor sharp.
Though it won’t work with Signal’s strange blade geometry. Maybe there is some similar simple solution?

Maybe a tapered diamond sharpener for the serrations

Similar to this

It is a bit of a chore.

I use a Lansky diamond and ceramic rod system for the front non-serrated bit. I cover the serrations with some tape to make sure I don't accidentally "sharpen" them too. I then reverse the tape and use a triangular ceramic stone for the serrations. After all that a few strops and it is good to go.

I go slow when I sharpen it, same as with the MUT. Both sides of the blade is hair popping sharp.

Cheers, Pete

Thanks for the hints, gents
I do like the tool overall, do like the strong thick blade, the tent pole hammer and ability to take a pan off the fire with pliers, but man do I hate the combo blade

Fit a Wave blade. Sligtly thinner, I added a bronze washer from an old tool I had. It may touch the awl, but that can be sorted with a little sanding.

Yeah well I thought about it and I do have 2 spare Wave 420HC blades, but it’ll feel a bit off - I love the stock blade design, just would want it to be PE

Oh btw - do you sharpen at 16 degrees per side? If so - what gear do you use? My Lansky guided sharpening system has 17 degree angle but it’s not usable for anything I’ve tried because of the tightening bolt that gets in the way. The least angle I was able to use is 20 degrees per side. Always wondered how anyone manages to keep factory 16

Mine is not factory any longer. I use the 25 degree setting and can see the "new" edge on the blade. I use it for Leatherman and SAK.
