AHB,

Kinda crazy ain't it? And the pics here are just part of my Slipjoint collection. I got a ton of modern folders (Tacticals and the like), fixed blades, etc, etc, as well. I'm trying to cataloge all of them and get them stored properly but I am running out of room.

It's a addiction that's for sure. Slipjoints are worse than Crack!!!!!  :D

What's more, aside from my knife gluttony I am also a Flashaholic......and I got a list of lights on my "Must Have" list that's about as long as my arm!  :-\

And now I'm itching for some new MT's. It's a vicious cycle!  :bnghd:

Amazing collection, 2xTap.

Love the Camillus BSA knife with the end mounted Phillips.

Always wanted one just like that, but never got it for some reason.  After I got my first Vic Tinker I stopped buying Camillus knives.

I keep telling myself that it isn't...but you know what. A month ago when I joined up, I only had around 26 Mts, many of which were cheap ones bought here and there. Then I joined up on this forum, Multimat tried to warn me, and have counted...when it all comes in plus what I already have, a grand total of 115 MTs. I also had no SAKs, but now have 29 so far. Thankfully, I have placed that on the back burner for now.  >:D

Those are beautiful 2xTap. I am happy I haven't caught that bug yet.

Mike,

Thanks bud.

ringzero,

I have been a longtime Camillus fan having grown up carrying one that was my Father's when he was young. Never really got into Scout knives though until I was much older. Now Scout Knives have become a addiction within a addiction.....so to speak. When I got hooked I got to buying alot of Camillus built stuff, and when Camillus closed it's doors I was buying all I could afford. Including some I have already posted, here is a small group shot of some of my others......

I've kinda eased off on them for a while, been Pattern collecting and it's really limited what I can buy recently. But I have managed to add Scouts from Camillus, Remington, Imperial Schrade, Case, Bulldog, Weidmannsheil, Rough Rider, Colonial, Kabar, and one or two others. It's getting rounded out.

nuphoria,

I like using such chests for my least expensive collections, they look good and are great for storage. I have another one, a wood machinist's chest. It's a Gerstner clone that they sell at Harbor Freight and they are excellent for such collections too. I need a few more.

Chako,

I have a chinese junk-quality MT I have been using as a beater at work but haven't had a cecent MT since my old Gerber Multi-Plier from the early 90's. Having come here I have already bought three new MT's and am bidding on another on Ebay as I type this. I see another addiction in the works!  :-\

AHB,

I like it, I am a fan of the work the Yellowhorse family does. They are true artisans. I have some of their stuff, my most recent is a sweet customized Buck 110 my better-half got me last Christmas........

AHB,

Thanks bud.......and this is one of their least expensive and less fancy work overs. They build some grogeous stuff.

Chako,

As am I, just wish I could afford more of them. They have been doing some custom pieces lately using some of the newer GEC Slips that just got me....... !

Thanks for the additional pic, 2xTap.  Just your collection of Scout pattern knives is awesome.

Camillus BSA knives mean a lot to me, because those were what I always carried from Cub Scouts through Boy Scouts.

Camillus BSA knives were considered the best available when I was a kid.

I've always carried a knife of that basic pattern since I was about eight years old.

Camillus BSA, Case Campers, Kamp Kings, then finally Victorinox Tinkers.  Love them all.

ringzero,

In my youth it was Jack's and Stockman slips, when I wasn't carrying a Buck 110. My interest in Scouts came much later unfortunately. My liking for the Scout pattern Slips is what finally got me interested in SAK's, funny enough.

I love my SAKs.  Most functional knives I own.  However, compared to a slippie, they are just missing....... something.  The words soul and tradition are thrown around all the time, but I am not quite sure if that's what it is.  I just know that if I were to lose my Wenger SI, I'd be disappointed, but I'd just get another one.  If I lost my Case Peanut, I'd be heart broken, like I lost something irreplaceable.  Maybe it's the handle materials that do it for me, I don't know.  With a knife that has a wood, or bone, or stag handle... I can just see an old grandfather using a Peanut to whittle on the front porch while smoking a pipe on a warm summer night, aglow with the porch light, and surrounded by the sounds of frogs, bugs, and crickets.  I just don't see that with a SAK.
I would never question the utility of a SAK (a classic SD is with me all the time on my keychain), but there's just something that talks to me about a good old school slippie.  Plus, it makes a good bit of pocket jewelry as well.

I carried a Buck 110, for outdoor use not EDC, for years.

Buck 110 was my first folder with a lock.

Eventually I decided the 110, at around 7 oz IIRC, was too heavy for backpacking and so got its little brother.

Buck Ranger, maybe model 112 or 120?

Anyhow, that smaller version of the Folding Hunter served me faithfully for years of backpacking.

Buck lockbacks may seem kind of outdated nowdays, but they are still great knives - long term durable and all around useful.

Yup, the Buck Ranger is the 112. Good knife!

To me the Buck lockbacks will never be outdated, just like classic Slipjoints never will be. They are timeless.  :tu:

Buck slippies are top notch as well.  They are a very underrated knife, but, even the imports are a very good deal for the price.  I have two imports.  A Buck Stockman, and a Buck Canoe, and they are really good knives.  Built like tanks, made to work, no frills knives.

Well my small and very cheap collection is put to shame by every one of those posted in here lol. I don't spend much money on them as I view these as working knives. I like to rotate them depending upon occasion and task. I usualy have a small stockman at the bottom of a front pocket most days when I am off work.

Because of my lack of taste...many of them are made in Pakistan or China.  :ahhh

I don't mind abusing them if the need arises though.  :D

That is my most used little guy. It is a Winchester Stockman...which means it is probably made by Carolina Knife and Tool. Purveyor of most things cheap. With that said, it is the one I carry around with me most of the time due to its small stature, comfortable shape, and steel that holds an edge long enough for me not to care much about it.
