Uses for the Hook??

After searching, I found pretty much nada, so I'll throw it out there:

What creative uses have you found for the hook?

I don’t think it would serve much use as a "package carrier" since no one uses twine anymore on packages.

In my last job I'd have to tie up all the previous days newspaper's to return to the suppliers, and I used to use my Huntsman for the job

I've also used it lifting mess tin's off of the fire

did you try the "search" function here? I just tried it, found several hook ideas.

holding the pen, holding pots for cooking, pulling tent pegs, clothes hanger etc.
and I remember we were talking about it too, some people had some really good
uses for it.

People find various uses for the hook. Unless you've got one with the nail file on the back I consider it about the biggest waste of metal Victorinox have ever made. Aside from perhaps the Sports Ratchet Tool

I put "hook" in the regular search and got tons, I ignored the "guthook" entries and "hooked ones and found several just "hook" ones, and their were many pages! but I'm sure you'll get lots of posts here eventually

The hook is good for holding the pen while writing with it.
(The hook is in the almost-closed position for this, with the pen under it.

I can imagine many uses for the Hook, but I've never really used it. It was a PITA to open on my

& backspring tools give me the willies.

Has there ever been a end-hook? (other than the Spirit ? )

To put an end to speculation I've just asked my wife which out of the three options would be the best tool for the job.

Pliers win easy. Though she isn't volunteering to test it. So there! Useless hook!

Ring pulls ,awkward wires ,zippers and tightening awkward wet walking boot laces are just some of the uses I have put the hook to

The hook does no harm,Ive found mine usefull a time or two. Very good on bootlaces and good for tightening cordage.

It seems like a good tool to use to thread cordage through a hole that otherwise would be difficult with just fingers...especially in a cold/wet outdoors enviroment.
