Found a Micra in one of the downstairs drawers the other day. Shoved it in my pocket with the intention of sticking it with all the other Leathermans. Instead it's found it's way onto my keyring........

Have to say, it's proving to be  quite useful too  :tu:
I don't claim to know it all, but what I do know is right.

The Micra is timeless. I suspect that 50,000 years from now, archaeologist will dig up all these LM Micra's and realise what an advanced society we were.

The Micra was revolutionary when it was released (mid 1990's I believe). It suddenly showed consumers that just because a tool was compact and relegated to your key chain didn't mean it had to be "toy" quality. I will always have a fondness for the Micra because of the important trend it launched.

It's actually one of the last keychain tools I bought. Got a sweet price on it too. Should have bought two.

I tried a bunch of different combos, but I think this is the ideal setup for me. I wear slacks 5 days a week, son minimizing the bulge is my top priority.

Ha. Some things are just funny, and talking about a bulge is one of them.

You know how sometimes you're walking and your cell phone turns horizontal in your pocket...I call that a phone boner. Ha!

Allright, enough!

Stop that!

It all starts very nice and friendly and all laughs but we all know how it's going to end...

I'm having a brain fart on making something new(material pending).. I'm sure you all have seen one of those keychain's that police wear, that wrap around the keys so they don't make any noise? Well I got a idea lastnight but I gotta see what I got and sketch something up before I start..

Well, I looked to see what I had and just started without even a sketch. It's done but I want to try something else, I just had to take a break for dinner and to sit back because being hunched over the desk is really taking a toll on the back. Anyway here's a few pics, I put two clips in, Velcro the two flaps, on the back I put a loop on top so I can be carried with a carabiner, but also a snap to go around a belt. Oh and on the inside I kinda made a hidden pocket, you can see where I slid the sak in, what for I have no clue, but it's there! What do you think?

Minichamp arrived today
How do you like the Minichamp compared to the Rambler? Is the added bulk and weight noticeable? What do you intend to use the extra tools for (Orange peeler, emergency blade, cuticle pusher and ruler)?

I ask as someone who is waiting on a Rambler that is in the mail and should arrive tomorrow, which will be upgrading my Classic. To me, Rambler seems like the perfect combination of tools, with out any added bulk.

Not saying your decision to upgrade to a Minichamp is wrong, that looks like an awesome tool! I am just curious what use you have for the somewhat odd extra tools you get.

Thanks,, I think I'm finally done! I put my finishing touch on it, just sew in my one dog tag, and then added my light, cards, and sak. The only other thing that would have been nice would have been to loop in some red string, but I'm beat! My backs like pulsating, maybe some other day..
The only thing I'm worried about is getting used to using it! Having to open it then unhook the keys, use them, snap then back in, and then close it back up! I might have to make something smaller..

To be honest you can't beat a rambler, I just  wanted a change but  it is nice having a spare blade  and that cut&picker  tool is useful too.  You won't be disserpointed with your rambler .
