Favourite paracord lanyards/bracelets
on: November 27, 2015, 07:01:20 PM
I bought 100' of 550, and I'm looking for ideas of what to make.  I'm new to making stuff with paracord, but have made a few lanyards using the Cobra Weave, and they turned out pretty good.

I was thinking about making some lanyards and bracelets (without buckles) for my son to sell.  Some of his buddies sell different bracelets, but nothing made from paracord.

Just looking for ideas for simple little things to make.  Also what color combos look good together.  I know my daughter will want some too, and will probably also want some in her hockey team colors (white, yellow and black).

Also for making kids stuff, do you think a smaller gauge cord would be better so it's not so thick on the wrist?

I think the gauge is fine. You don't want it snagging on something and being so thin that it cuts the skin.

Instead of a buckle, what about a compass? I bet you could find a 25 pack of cheap add-on compass' for a couple USD for the boys.

I'm sure you could find a hockey charm of some sort for your daughter, would definetly be custom!!

Might add a little something special.

Also, save all your scraps. Anything over 3" is usable.

Good idea on the compasses and charms!! :tu:

Now I'm trying to source some cheap cord. eBay is really cheap, around $5 for 100' of 550, but I'm not sure of the quality. Should be good enough for what I'm doing. Amazon is the second cheapest, but that's $13 for 100' of 550.

There are American dealers that sell the good stuff cheap, but the shipping costs kills it. :(
