Day 1:

I normally carry a Wingman everyday because it's so easy and useful to carry. I take the Wingman in addition to other items and usually reach for it first. But this month is all about Surge, alone.

I had one of these serving stands left over from the disposable aluminium trays used over Thanksgiving. I wanted to reduce it before I chucked it in the bin.

Surge cutters and pliers head made quick work of cutting or twisting into smaller pieces.

Day 2:
Pull tab packaging from Amazon didn't pull all the way through. Using Surge serrated knife backwards opened the rest.

Some new pegboard hardware.

Day 3:

I affixed the quick-release and removable pocket clip that I bought for a Wave. It wiggles from side to side. I don't like it, prefer the Wingman pocket clip.

Yeah, I don't like the wiggly clip either, but it's better than a sheath. Works very well on the Wave.

You can fix the wiggly clip by undoing the pivot and epoxying (or gluing) the end cap in place. I've done it to 2 Surge's now and the clip is solid now. :tu:

Day 6:

Using the scissors to get the last bit of my popcorn. This entire thread could be about using the scissors like 15 times a day.

Day 7:

Used Leatherman Surge pliers to pull and cut zip-ties that secure a magnetic tool holder to my pegboard. This is a temporary fix until I find a more elegant solution.

Elegant? Looks good to me!

Never seen the word "superjustable" either

Something more permanent, better looking, and more secure than just zip-ties.

Day 8:

I wanted to cut these palm fronds in half because they were blocking a walk way. I used the Surge saw and it was very easy. I had a bunch to cut so I switched over to large Corona saw. It was a better cutter but harder to control so I switched back for the last few. With certain multi-tools I try not to use things like the saw so they're sharp for when I really need them. With the Surge the saw is replaceable anyways.

Day 9:

Never had much luck with sweepstakes or prize drawings(reverse jinx). Was offered a good deal on a Swisstool Spirit although it's not the X version, so I bought it. I'm going to leave it unopened until the end of the challenge and drawing.

I meant action shots. It's a little tricky when you're on ladders.

Day 13:

This year's fad destined to litter next year's yard sales.

This is supposed to be staked into the ground. But they insisted on mounting it higher to see if it would project better. Leatherman Surge and more zip-ties.

Day 16:

Opening a can of beans for a demo. The can is nearly expired. I am not a big fan of can openers on multitools. I think they're a relic. I much rather have a package opener. If the Surge had a combo package opener/wire stripper that would be cool. The Surge can opener does the job fine, the can opener is much better than the Wingman's. The other thing is the cap lifter part of the can opener design sucks. It's nowhere near as good as the cap lifter/screwdriver on the Victorinox.

I have never used an MT can opener.  Ever.  I would be okay if they disappeared.   >:D
