I rescued this from a skip in the rain, it had been thrown out after a repair shop had looked at it..... then two separate Guys had taken it out, looked and put it back
So what's a poor boy to do?  :pok:

Yep take it home and dry it out  :gimme:

Lets investigate,

take lots of pictures so we can put it back together at the end

we need to remove that bit  ;)

That bit runs smooth now  :D

Add some wood

What's my disc cutter doing there?

 :ahhh

That works, still needs a few finishing touches  :D

Did you really think it was going back together?

Love the idea, the only I suppose to it seems like a normal chop saw would work better.

Do you mean it would be better if I had left it as a chop saw for wood?
It would be a lot better for metal if I had a 9inch disc cutter mounted there, at the moment its ok for small stuff and I can do repeatable angles  :tu:

You could get one of those chainsaw blades on it for wood cutting. You might want to check them out anyway.

I think what he means is that a non-sliding chop saw would have been preferable

I say good job for making use of what's at hand.

Here are long overdue pictures of the garage of casa de TJ. The project last night was to give my bike a good scrubbing and clean the drivetrain. My last two rides have involved healthy amounts of mud.  :D

Thanks spark! It's more of a big shed at this point due to the garage door not working  and tough angle to get a car in there. It's slowly falling apart and will have to be redone down the pipeline. :o

I think it was a brain fart on my part.  Did not go back far enough to see how the project started.  And thought "chop saw" only referred to a metal saw.

Here is a picture of my shop.  Don't have a place to forge at home, like to get enough of a forge to at least do heat treating.

Got lucky with the desk it was all of $5.

If I had the desk when I got the vise I may have gotten one they can be bolted down, but it is actually pretty convenient to have one I can move around.

Yeah I am guessing that it got marked down due to weighing a ton.  It is a good desk only thing is when I move I am not sure if I am going to abandon it or not, (it will depend on where I go next).

I have had access to one of these for ages without knowing.  :ahhh My grandfather has an old ('70/'80) model and I have just never known about all the possibilities! I've of course known about the saw and planer but that it also was a router table was hidden. Can't wait until Easter when I will be in a place to learn how it all works!

Some of my current-ish projects

Horseshoe (my 1st) basically done but needs to be cleaned up.

The plier bits will be made into scroll tongs but I have yet to start on them.

Then there is my attempt at a sales, needs cleaning and heat treating.

Friction folder blade, it has been tempered now I just need to make the handle.

The scales on my Juice which are done.
