Wenger Snife Commander Series
on: December 06, 2015, 04:24:57 AM
Wenger produced a wacky series based on the 85 mm Commander and 65 mm Esquire knives back in the 90s. I am uncertain of how difficult these are to get these days, but when I was hunting them down, most of what I saw was scratched and marred. The Achilles heel of these knives are the graphics which are easily worn away. Thus getting pristine knives can be a challenge.

With that said, the Snife Series is indeed a colourful family.

1/2 of the Commanders on a collector card.

And all 10 of the Snife Commanders.

Top row: Crazy, Waves, Zebra, Rhythm, 7th Avenue.
Bottom row: Handy, Mystic, Crackers, Gems, Amazon.

A fun series, but poor wearing. Probably inspired by the Swatch watches.

Nice post Chako .............. As always of course  :D  :tu:  :salute:

Good to see them all together.

I have only one - The Handy
- Unfortunately my least favourite of the set  - I like the Crazy, Waves, Zebra, Amazon
- Pretty much all of them except the Handy and the Gems -  :(
But that's the one I got.  ;)
Although it is in great condition - Pretty much as new - Which is good for 20 odd years old
- I guess it just sat in a drawer somewhere.

It is my six year old son's favourite SAK (or 'Sarmy knife' as he calls them) in my collection.
If ever I ask him to bring me a knife over - This is the one he chooses!!
He has asked me if he can have it one day - To which I of course replied, 'Yes! With pleasure'

A fun series, but poor wearing. Probably inspired by the Swatch watches.

Yes I heard that too.
And they certainly  are poor wearing - I have seen some shockers on the Bay.

Thanks for those, I've updated the Snife wiki page with these. :hatsoff:

Do you have all the Esquires also?

Sorry for the late reply. I do not have them all. I think I have 2 or 3...but it looks like ColoSwiss came to the rescue.  :salute:

Yup, but thanks for the Commanders.

I helped myself to the pics. :D I figured the offer to use anything I need from your pics for the wiki still stands. :hatsoff:

BTW, I have a special place in my heart for those Snifes as a Snife Waves was my first ever real SAK bought with my birthday money when I was 12 or something like it. That's where the SAK love began. So I'm glad to finally have the Snife page with nice pictures.

A slight change of subject - Did anyone ever come up with any more pictures for the Canadian Wildlife Series?
