Wet and Wild in Sutherland
on: December 06, 2015, 06:51:09 PM
Just back from a few days hiking in Sutherland.  Fantastic place to go and visit with simply stunning scenery.  As some of you might be all too aware storm Desmond has had North England and Scotland in it's grip for the last few days and we were caught on the edge of it.  Happily, for once, we were staying in a hostel rather than camping, so at least we were warm and dry in the evenings.  Some pics to follow.

A little bit of cave exploring as well.  Far from proper potholing, but still fun.

I'm sure a trip to the beach should have a little less storm and a little more sun.  Ah well.

Cheers gents.

We were all well wrapped up and, for the most part, stayed dry.  So I'd call the weather a 'feature' rather than a problem.  Certainly an aspect that we can look back on and say "do you remember when..?"

Thanks for taking us along.  As long as I'm prepared for whatever weather I'm always quite happy being out.
