Thanks fellas :D

Ya, I love leather sheaths/belts and this one is real quality. I paid $55 for this and am so amazed with the value. :tu:

Even with paying a little more than that like with TG's recent acquisitions, you're still getting a super bargain for what you're getting :salute:

I just left ebay and I bought another 112! OMG.

This is a limited edition made for Ducks Unlimited.I've been viewing several of these DU models but didn't want to pay the asking or even the opening price of $89.00 to $135.00.

This just came up for sale today and the seller wanted $60.00 NIB

I've been a supporter of DU for 30 plus years. This is a natural purchase for me and will go well with several DU stamps, pictures and carvings I have at home.

I've been carrying one of my 110's in my back pocket as I already have 2 sheaths for my MP600 and bit kit. The 420HC is a great steel and easy to sharpen.

Yes I buy in spurts.I received one more today but I can't seem to take a half way decent photo.I have two more on the way and one being built in Buck's custom shop.

After these folders, I'll look for some Buck fixed blades to compliment this 124 Frontiersman.

Did the 124 or 119 ever come with different handles or bolsters?

I'm far from an expert on Bucks but they have produced the 124 with cocobolo scales.I owned one in the '80's with this configuration,it also had an aluminum hilt and an aluminum butt cap.By the way the aluminum had a dull finish to it,where as the current production models have mirror polished aluminum.

There is a limited edition on the bay that has Indian Sambar stag handles and a mirror polished blade.

I hope this helps.

I mentioned in an earlier post that I was fortunate to discover this Buck shortly after the seller listed it.I couldn't hit the "buy it now" button fast enough.

Buck was commissioned to build these knives for Ducks Unlimited. This organization is dedicated to the preservation of waterfowl through a number of means, including sponsoring legislation preserving wetlands and even buying land that is necessary for the preservation of waterfowl populations.

This is one of the two Buck 112 models that were built that year.It has a mirror polished blade that is etched and gold onlayed with a waterfowl scene. The scales are oak laminate inlayed with a brass 50 year anniversary button. The bolsters are brass as well as the scale pins.It came encased in a green velvet jewelry box with a white satin lining.Altogether it is a very attractive package.

PS:  This knife was made in 1986!

There is considerable interest in Bucks as well as other American makers such as Case.

Hey sawman,I also received the Chairman edition today but haven't taken any pics yet.

Complete 700 series trimmed in brass. IIRC these were only offered in 85 & 86 with brass furniture.

This is a series I really wish Buck would bring back. Especially in an upgraded steel. Not that I have any real heartburn with their standard steels, but a 701 in S30v would really please me. :)

Coworker received a Buck 119 with an absolutely atrocious edge. Never seen such a wavy and chipped edge. Probably should have used a file, but instead he used the course stone on my lansky for an hour

A Chairman, I can't wait :D :D

I thought I had purchased something different from the ones I have viewed in the past. The one I viewed for purchase had the signature on the scale but on the nail nick side of the knife. When it arrived it had the signature on the opposite side and the Buck anvil logo on the nail nick side scale.

What burgeoning Buck collection would be complete without standard factory offerings. Here are two 112's one without and one with finger grooves.

Those are the pre-86 701's with the running horses engraved on the blade. They're a numbered series, but I'm not sure how many they made. Comes in the fancy box with a certificate. Nice looking but kinda too nice looking to use though on the other hand. I think if I look around thoroughly enough in my storage drawers boxes I might be able to find something else to fill in however.  ;)
