Best way to carry one spare AA in your pocket?

I'm the kinda dweeb that never feels happy unless my EDC is fully charged. I realise I would feel a lot better if I could carry a single AA spare battery with me in my pocket.

Trouble it is needs to live with my keys and multitool and stuff, so I want some protection for the battery beyond a plastic bag.

What I want is a super compact waterproof case or tin or something, but have never found anything. Heaps of 4x AA on ebay, but too big. I am being anal enough wanting one spare, let alone 4.

A friend suggested thick heat shrinkwrap, and just seal up an eneloop with a hairdrier, but that sounded possibly hazardous.

Thoughts?

Find the smallest AA light and keep it in that?  Something like an Olight i2 or Maratac AA.

You don't want to short-circuit your cell though, so I'd look for non conductive containers.

A Chapstic tube or some tube from medicine might work. I've kept the box from some chewable painkillers exactly for the reason you describe, carry a single AA cell around. Looking at beauty products might be fructiferous as well. Good luck in your search.

I used to carry a spare AA (14500) in a CountyComm AA Waterproof Delrin Battery Locker when I was using AA lights.

Now my spare battery carrier (RCR123a) is the Zebralight H302w  :D

EDIT: I don't think CountyComm does direct shipping to down under though. You might need to use a shipping forwarder or a friend in the States.

You could also find a Maglite AAA or depending on the cost a 4/7s Atom/Preon.  I wrestled with the same dilemma and carry my "extra" cells as secondary flashlights.  The secondary flashlight to me is a better option in that you have a backup.  It can also compliment your primary light in terms of features and lumens.  My 4/7s Atom has a magnetic tail for example so I can use it in different ways.

I also use the CountyComm delrin battery locker to carry a spare AAA on my keychain.  I've also got a few of them in the AA and CR2 size.  They're really tough and completely waterproof.  Don't buy them directly from CountyComm though, their service is terrible.  The place I got mine seems to have disappeared, but there are a few other places that carry them - survivaldepot and edcgear in the UK, I think BladeHQ in the US...
