Juice SC2 , "It is a funny piece of fruit"
on: January 07, 2009, 10:58:22 AM
In my quest to own the retired LM MT's , I now have all the retrenched Juices; KF4 , Pro & now the SC2. I got this NIB SC2 from US Ebay. After handling it for awhile I thought this feels wonky & so I have a closer look at the tool & sure enough the side with out the cork screw is wider giving the tool a very odd feeling in hand .Initially I thought I had been sold a dud/faulty tool ::) :D :D. So before jumping to conclusions I thought I would look up the SC2 on the Multitool Encyclopedia & sure enough the fountain of all MT knowledge Bob aka J-sews excellent post on Juices had the answer= the SC2 was made cockeyed  :D :D.

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll287/multimat426/multitools/0c9f58c4.jpg[/img]]

So I have 2 more retired LM MT's to get to complete the gang , I was going to say I have 2 more MT's to buy, but that would be a lie (so many tools  ::) :D ).

The seller has one more NIB SC2 for sale & he has dropped his price a couple of $'s to $31.99us.

The S2 Juices are like that too.   Why do they do that?   They could put another tool in the skinny side and it would be even.

That's interesting, I've just got one, but well used and thought the sloping was caused by abuse of the tool.

I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

Haha. Mat, the KF4, Pro and XE6 are the only "even" tools in the Juice range, so you'd not have spotted that earlier.

The CS4 is pretty close to even too I recall but I can't be bothered to fetch it (it's 4 feet away)  :P

Something to do with layers or something...
I used to come here a lot.

My XE6 isn't even, one side is smaller  ???

I stand corrected, I'd assumed it was the same as the PRO, but you're dead right, one side is ever-so-slightly thinner than the other.

So that's just the KF4 and the Pro then!

I used to come here a lot.

So several of the Juices are "unbalanced" but am I right in thinking that the SC2 is the worst? :-\
In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

The clear is very nice indeed, but seems to be the scarcest of the three colours they made them in.

You can just about see the difference between Clear and Storm Grey in this (old) pic, if that's any use to you:

Not that I've heard of. All of the colours are represented in the shot above, apart from the ozzie camo ones of course.

According to the official / box labels from left to right;

Flame Orange
Inferno Red
Blue (just blue - not Glacier)
Clear
Inferno Red again
Glacier Blue
Solar Yellow (x2)
Thunder Purple
Storm Grey (Gray in american)
I used to come here a lot.

Hi Folks,

A few Juices that seem to be missing - for the Australian market, Juice S2 in either green or brown camo or the Kf4 in either green or camo.  These are very difficult to find as there were only a few hundred of each made.

Best - Joe

Was it just a few hundred? I know that you just never see them! You've got a couple haven't you Joe? And I'm sure someone else who posts here does too.

The SC2 is the only Juice I have ATM.  I did own a XE6 but passed it along.

It should be noted that if you include the corkscrew in the thickness of the handle then they are reasonably even.  Either way the difference in thickness has never bothered me.
Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

You at least need the Kf4 :pok: If it had scissors that would be the most awesome light duty MT out there 8) If it was an easy mod to swap the serrated blade for scissors I would have done that definitely and that would be my main weekend carry MT :D Of course pair it with a small SAK and you have it all

:salute: Really only the Kf4 and Pro appeal to me and maybe the XE6 cause of the tool compliment ;) That's probably why I haven't ever ended up getting the others  I won the Skeletool on here many moons ago and have grown to really like it though :tu: Of course it isn't one of my HD MTS at all and will stay in the weekend EDC only ;)
