Custom Ninja MUT.

Carried it and used it more than I'd be willing to admit.

(Image removed from quote.)
Is there a build thread?

Not exactly but there's some reference in here.

http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,29302.msg926939.html#msg926939

Basically took a generic MUT, dyed the coyote PVC black, oxidized the Ti clip to dark pencil grey, sulphur (cooked egg) treated bronce scraper to subdued vintage-brass-like look.

As you can see I'm a bag full of tricks  :D ;)
What are your thoughts on a black ninja Signal?

I assume the parts could he dyed black. The only thing lacking thus far is the individual mods and remakes out there to meet the MUTs tool layout. But that will hopefully start happening this year.

MUT and Mini-Mut :D

I considered it initially but decided against in the end. Simply too many silver parts in the Signal to make it true Ninja-like. Dying the two plastic parts won't do much to subdued tacticool look and appearance. However if LM decides to release a BO version of Signal in the near future then it may be worth a try.

In the meantime save your pennies and divert the funds some place else, I'd say  ;)

When you look this good you can get away with being high maintenance.

The picture makes me curious as to what MT you carry/carried on field deployment?

Sent from 9 miles from the face of the sun

Like most of us here I mix it up.

The Army issues Gerber MP 600s and I was happy with them for many years. Still would be if I had not found MTO. Before our last Afghanistan deployment one of our Troops issued ST 300s to everyone.

This last training exercise I used the Surge since I was taking part in the Surge December Challenge. I also love taking my Swisschamp but have to supplement with something that has good pliers. One of the big jobs of MTs for me is opening boxes of ammo and the SC pliers are to small for it.

Does the Army still issue Gerber's or something else?

As of 2 months ago, still good old Gerber MP600s.

I also heard of one EOD unit being issued LM ST300 EOD - not sure if just one-off or how widespread this really is.

Our EOD guy last deployment had a EOD ST that his unit had given him.

It would be the Victorinox One Handed Trekker Non-Serrated; followed by the Victorinox version of the S557 EvoGrip; then the Victorinox Explorer.

Ahh... 2015 was not a really consistant year. I carried my swisstool until it was sent in for warranty. Had a leatherman wave for a while. Then my swisstool again. Then a juice s2 for a couple of weeks. After that i bought an Coldsteel AK 47 mini and now i have settled with an EKA swede 8 folding knife.

But overall it was my beloved swisstool X.

It's probably a tie between the Victorinox Explorer Plus and Manager. If I had to pick one, i'd be the Explorer Plus, since I carry it most weekend days, and during the week now and then. The Manager is my favorite work carry, but I rotate that a lot more. (with the Executive, Classic, and sometimes, something bigger)

Swisschamp for sure as SAKs go.  Wave get carried everyday and for work its been Surge and MUT more recently ( last part of 2015 ) and OHT ( past 2 months ).

Keychain carry is Manager which lives on my vehicle keychain.

Man.  I'm just looking thru old pages and this popped up.

I am no longer carrying my SC or either MUT/OHT.  I no longer carry my Wave or any large MT outside of work.  My Manager is still king of the keychain SAKs and its the same one.

Charge TTi/Surge/Spirit for work.  Squirt for off days.

HAHA.  Looking back is interesting.  Not a jump from the Wave to TTi.  The Swisschamp was slimmed to an Explorer.  My Manager lives on tho which is neat.

Just worked out what it was as I bought it for my birthday in June that year. :) Was a good carry.
