A sad day on the belt front for the Capt. I recieved the belt I ordered and the sizing was way off. I used their sizing chart, but it is still huge and even the smallest hole is to large. The belt also had some minor defects which is a big no no for a $120 belt. Second, I wanted to return for a different size which I guess is not a option. I have to return it for a refund instead and order the correct size if I wanted to go that route. Then my printer took a crap so now I cannot print the return shipping label. Three strikes and your out. I will most likely not order the correct size and just move on.  :(
Omg, that sucks, are you sure they even sent you the right belt in the first place? Cause if they screwed up then they should have to pay the return shipping, no? That's just not right for something so exspencive, I can see if it was something cheap and the shipping is like more then the item, and it the belt has defects then that's definetly not right and they should take care of it, either that or I would find another belt manufacture! As far as the printer not working go to the library or staples and print it out there, yeah it's like $.25 but I'm sure that's nothing compared to having to keep a $120 belt! Who know maybe find another nice belt online and for cheaper, so all the crap you gotta go through and pay will be counterbalance? Some of these places you pay more for the name.. Hey what about saddleback?

Just to clear things up I do not have to pay return shipping as I found out they sell their belts through Amazon which is where I ordered from. If I had ordered it straight front them like I was going to I believe I would of had to pay return shipping and possibly restocking fee. I could be wrong about that though. Thank goodness that's not the case.

I may order what I think will be the correct size as I have been wanting this belt for a while now and I need a quality belt! but it will not be for probably 2 weeks. Amazon has a option for them to print out the shipping label and mail it to you. They deduct $1 from your refund. It's nice to have the option, but I need to get my printer working.  I will have to wait a few days for the label to show up. Ship the package back. Then wait for a refund. Ugh... They normally have a option to exchange for a different size, but not this time.

Its a process to go thru but at least you got the belt in hand and got to see what it was all about.  Other than the "defects" what did you think over all?  Were you otherwise impressed with this belt?

Yes I was very impressed and it's exactly what I want. It is probably one of the best quality belts I have ever seen and definately the nicest I have ever owned. I'm not real versed in leather, but it's NICE!

Shoot, maybe I should just go ahead and order the correct size. There is only one left.

Well that's good, 75% of our online shopping is through Amazon, I've never heard of them sending a shipping label, normally we've just told the we don't have a printer and they just sent ups to pick it up and they just slap a sticker on it, and that's just not a one time deal, we've done that at least ten,, I hate ordering anything size or fitting offline, cause it's a gamble, like ordering a custom made suit, it either fits or don't! Unlike ordering a sak or something you just know works. Hope everything works out and quickly too!

As far as shipping labels go they have a few option. You can print it, have them send you one, or have UPS pick it up. You should see the options next to the UPS pickup button.

I finally got my printer working and printed a label and sent the belt off today. I also decided to order another as there was only one in the size I think I need and I decided I very much wanted one so might as well get it while I can. I ordered two sizes smaller so theoretically it should be perfect. The original size was so big even if I buckled it into the smallest hole position the belt was still to large. I figure one size would not put it where I want it so two sizes down should be good. I am wondering why it did not fit in the first place as all the reviews on their website say the size chart works perfect. Only thing I can think of is the belt was longer than was printed on the belt. I hope that's not the case as the new one I ordered will likely be way to small if that's true. With my luck it will be. I would measure the belt, but I already sent it off. Fingers crosses!

Stopped by the Redwing store while I was out and came home with a belt.  :D Its a beauty and I never realized how uncomfortable my other belt was until I put this one on. I never knew a belt could feel "comfortable". That may sound strange, but its what I felt when I put it on for the first time.  I still have my other belt coming and plan on using the Redwing for work and the other for my non work days.

Redwing.

Looks like a nicely made belt.  Thick piece of leather and great color.

I just got my replacement of the other (much more expensive) belt and the size is perfect this time. The belt is beautiful and the leather is amazing quality! I wanted to take some pics before I starter wearing it, but I don't feel up to pictures right now and there is no light anyways so I will get pics in a few days. I am wearing it now and am loving everything about it.

Just some notes. If you guys did not know the belt is actually two identical English Bridal leather belts sewn together which means mainly two things. It makes the belt very rigid as well as making the inside just as beautiful as the outside of the belt which I love. It also has excellent hardware that are Chicago screws and not snaps. This means they will never release unexpectedly as well as being geared towards long term use. The best part is it comes with a 20 year warranty! In my eyes this says to me they have a excellent product that they believe in. Even more so when we are talking about something like a belt. As it stands right now I could not be happier and the cost was definitely worth it. Will I feel the same in a year from now? Who knows, but I guarantee I will keep you guys updated on its durability. One last note is I always get a warm fuzzy feeling inside when I see high quality leather that has beautifully aged over the years and looks better than when it was new. This belt should age the same way and I cant wait to see it progress. Its like a beautiful patina on a coin or knife. I also like how the outside is lighter than the inside of the belt as it will darken over time.

Well here are some pics.

Just to explain the next few pics. Here is a comparison between the Hanks and the other belt I just bought which was the Redwing belt. Now don't get me wrong the Redwing belt is amazing and better quality than most, but the Hanks seems to be in a league of its own as far as my belts go.

Outside of both belts.

Inside of Hanks belt compared to outside of Redwing belt.

Inside of Hanks compared to inside of Redwing.

I too love the look of well worn and well aged leather ( of quality ).  There is really nothing like it.  As far as the cost, I find cost is always so relative and so personal thats its not relevant.

Those look like they will age great.  The more wear the better.
