Can join this club now that i have my first PST.. my dad had bought one way back in the mid to late 90s- my brother now has that one, but I just picked up this good condition 0101 PST, good condition except the small driver is snapped off.  So if anyone knows where to get one, or is willing to sell/donate one, I'm looking.

I was going to originally mod this somehow, or steal some parts from it... but it's actually such a nice tool on it's own, I think I'll just polish it up and display it and leave it be!  I'm so surprised at how elegant this tool is.  It's like a supersized Micra with pliers in place of scissors.

Yeah, having gotten one again myself, I'm in love awl over.  :D

The PST and the original Super Tool have reminded me why Leatherman was such a great multitool company.  Their new offerings don't compare in my mind, 'though I do still love my Wave and Rebar.

Agreed... mostly.  I don't think anything that they've released since roughly 2015 has been both innovative AND useful.  Innovative, yes... but I think the multitool market is reaching a design roadblock of sorts.  The new FREE series is neat, but has issues, which is a different discussion... but doesn't bring anything truly revolutionary to the MT industry as a whole, not like the original PST did.. or the WAVE.  Of all of their products in since '83, probably only about a dozen are truly "next-generation revolutionary".

Sometimes the basics are still the best.

I mostly like the higher quality of the PSTs and Super Tools.

And the more compact designs. Fewer tools, yes, but more compact.

Just added a Marlboro Country Store PST. It is date stamped 06/94 in both handles. I got it used but it is in like new condition. I bought it with the intention of doing a restoration like Steve and others have done here recently. All it needed was some light cleaning with soap and water, a shot of compressed air, and some WD-40. The Marlboro stamp is very faint on mine. Just wondering if this is normal?

Anyway, here she is in all her glory.

Thanks Nix, Yes, I count myself very lucky for finding this PST. It is like the previous owner just left it in the sheath and threw it in the drawer.

Not usually this lucky, but took a chance on a blurry picture. This is one of the few times I got lucky. Seems ironic since I was looking for one to fix up.

Wow!  That is like new!  I haven't seen one that clean and pretty since my dad bought his brand new (and I promptly cut myself).

Thanks Jason, Glad my post triggered a memory about your father’s PST. I hope it was a happy one. Sorry to read it bit you. I have been teaching my boys about knife safety so they can earn their whittling chip and know that excitement can trump safety. Hope your cut wasn’t serious.

Here's my first "real" multi tool/ Leatherman: a 11-12/'99 PST II bought new, and the then-optional nylon flashlight- tool combo sheath (shown with the 2nd Mini Maglite it had, and it's converted to led with the Terralux Mini star 2 module).
Had been relegated to "drawer king", as it had loose pliers and tool pivots, and its sentimental value for me ( wedding present; travels to Spain and Italy; travels within the US).
Recently, I read a couple of members'posts on how to peen pivots, and took courage and fixed the pliers'; also made me a couple of " maintenance wrenches" for PST/ST300 pivots, and adjusted those on the PSTII.Cleaned the pliers' teeth, diamond file and lubed also. I'm really glad to have it in almost like new condition, and once reburnished and polished it's out to the world again!!! Thanks to all for the ideas and motivation. Hope you like it! Suggestions, comments or critiques welcome.
PS- sorry for the  crappy picture...
