My first PST II arrived today.

I studied pictures closely, handles on each side stamped  Leatherman Tool, but tool set definitely a II, Combo blade, Scissors, fish hook groove on file.
Date stamp is 02/98.

In very good ++ condition,  has DuPont mark on one side only. I am thinking of leaving it in place.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Thank you, it appears to have never been used!

Had to clean brown grease from the tool pivots to make accessing the implements easier

Combo blade I do not believe ever cut paper, possible the same for scissors.  And, the file  has no debris on either  side or marks.

I found this amazingly beautiful PST II from late '98 (1098) in new condition. I'm now wondering if I should wear it and use it or leave it in this condition.

In the future, private messages are the appropriate way to go about this type of thing. We don't want threads turning into buy and sell or want to buy adds. We have a want to buy forum as well.

Pretty disappointed in myself. Not sure what I was thinking, but there was a nice "early" PST (mine are all 90s) on ebay and I put in a bid on it but it was pretty low. I want to get a nice example of an early version but it won't be that one lol.

I’ve joined (re-joined, I already had a PST) the club today with the arrival of a very clean PST II dated 0101 and 0301.

If I hadn’t built up a bit of a collection over the last couple of years, I think I’d be pretty happy with this as a main everyday carry tool.

Craig

It’s a PST II.

Are there variations in them?

That is awesome and welcome back to the PST II club :woohoo: :like:

I love the PST II toolset except for the combo blade  :D (the Pulse is almost perfect in that aspect 8) ) I have swapped the blade out on one that I carry sometimes though  of course plenty love the combo blade though :tu:

Not the toolset but some of the tools were updated over the years on the PST and PST II, like the designs of some of the screwdrivers :tu: also, some of the diamond files have hook sharpeners but as newer ones were put together and the stock of those ran out the groove was removed because of warranty issue

Mine has the groove in the diamond file.

I’m a fan of serrated and combo blades. I carry a Leatherman for odd jobs at work and at home, but also for emergencies like being first on the scene of an accident. If that happens, I want something that’ll go through seatbelts, rope, clothing…

The new to me tool is a bit of an odd one. The blades are clean and seem unused, but the pliers seem well broken in.

After years using Leatherman, I finally was gifted a PST2.
Never had better in the whole lineup for my use.

If you have an edc blade anyhow, the combo blade then is an extra tool to have .

I’m in the UK, so carry options are a bit limited.

I don’t usually carry a separate knife, just a multitool.

As pictured in an earlier post from early February iirc,  my PSTII is an earlier production unit. 02/98.

With the groves diamond file, scissors and Combo blade.

BUT, the handles are only stamped  LEATHERMAN TOOL, no PST II stamp on either side.

I was told that the early II models were build with remaining  PST handles.

I believe that would be the major variation of the II🙄
