Hi folks. Can't remember exactly when I bought this, except it was way back and hardly used. Appreciate if someone can help me identify the model# (original PST, PSTII, or something else?) and approx. year it was in production please. Many thanks in advance !

PST II. The Leatherman PST chronology project is a great place to research you LM:  :like:
https://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,5877.0.html

Made between '96 and '04 and if you look closely inside the handle (under the tools), you'll see a 4-digit date code (MMYY). Enjoy!  :salute:

I might even narrow this down to 97 to 2000 but as said it has the date codes inside the handles  it is a great model :tu:

Welcome to :MTO:

That is an early PSTII (before they started to stamp the handles with "PSTII"  ).

It will have date codes inside the handles (sometimes a bit faint, but they will be there).

Hi folks. Thank you all for your valuable information. This is very helpful indeed. I checked the date stamp at the inside of the handles and it says "9690". Does that mean it was produced in 1990? If so, I am a litle bit confused by the month "96xx" as I thought the date code is MMYY? Also, if it is indeed a 1990 model, then based on my reading of the Leatherman PST chronology project, it appears that it is a PST model rather than PSTII model? (please correct me if I am wrong).

As always, any help would be greated appreciated. Thanks !

I just realized I might have turned the handles upside down. The date code therefore is 0696, not 9690. That will make it a 1996 produced PSTII model. Sorry for the confusion.

No worries, you have figured it out.  The tool is definitely a PSTII, the PST didn't have scissors or a diamond saw with a hook sharpening groove.

My apologies if I’m posting this in the wrong thread but I wanted to get an opinion about a Leatherman PST and see if anyone may be able to point me in the right direction as to the value or perhaps make an offer. I have attached some photos but happy to send more. I think it may be a PST from the late 80’s - early 90’s described here if I recall as #5?

Update: Date code is 1194

Thank you in advance for any advise.

Welcome VV  :tu:

This is more of an “owners club” thread for PSTs. You can try posting FS on the trade link here: https://forum.multitool.org/index.php/board,7.0.html

Your PST looks in good condition. But difficult to give a value. It’s really only collectors that buy the PSTs and there are a lot on the market, so not particularly valuable.

Good luck  :salute:

Welcome W !

Max has it right we have a B&S section that you can post in. You will need 5 posts before you can answer private messages. Please read the rules in the B&S section before listing your PST.

As to value I would say with the sheath around $35

Welcome to :MTO: VV  Nice PST :like: these 2 above me have it right about where to sell and the price

Also  it may be the way I am looking at it but it seems to have a blade on it that is older than the 94 year it was made ??? perhaps it was warrantied at one time and they had an older blade in part stock and replaced it

Yeah I am looking at the pics again  :D
