Hi there,

I've had my PST II since about 1996, it looks like it'll need a sharpen now .. anyone know of any reputable  places in NZ that can sharpen it and not trash it ?

Pic attached so you can see how it looks after a few trips around the world and being used for things it's not supposed to be (hammer and chisel come to mind) :-)

Welcome Mark    is it the knife blade you are wondering about ? If so should be pretty easy to sharpen yourself with a small whetstone.

It's a serrated blade .. last 2 inches I could probably do as they are more knife like, but in the little crecent bits I'd just ruin it, so going to try and find someone who does sharpening for a living and trust them with it.

I use a Lansky BladeMedic - very easy to use on the individual crescents of the serrated section.  :tu:

Time for old faithful...

That is, it is reasonably new to me, but it replaces the PST that I had inadvertently snapped the blade off of about two decades ago. I sent the broken one in a couple years ago. True to their word, LM honoured their warranty but as PST blades were no longer available they opted to give me a brand new Wave instead. Who was I to complain?

However, the simplicity and originality of the old PST had continued to exert its appeal, so, as some may know, I got a replacement, from the (alas now defunct) MTO store. It is used but in good shape.
