SOSAK Knife Of The Year has been chosen!
on: August 28, 2008, 02:21:58 PM
The new 2008 SOSAK Knife of the Year has just been announced in SOSAK by Travis, and it looks like this year we are going with the Waiter (aka Bartender)!

Thanks to everyone who voted, and if you would like to purchase one of these knives, send Travis an email at TravisAutry@msn.com or a PM here on Multitool.org HERE.

I thought Travis said that Def would set up an order form on SOSAKOnline?

Finally, the knife I voted for was chosen!  I've always wanted a Waiter...

What color scales?  I'm hoping for white.

Booyah,

I'm fashionable, and I don't even need to buy anything new to do it! (If you think I'm coughing up for a waiter with "SOSAK" on it you can think again)

Some punk already has my username on Knife forums (if anyone wants to fess up & give me their account it could save a lot of me tracking you down & murderalising you. Just saying) - can anyone give me the short version of the poll & what reasons people gave for their selection?

The SOSAK Knife will be in Hunter Green with a white imprint, and the options were:

Waiter - $26.99
Spartan - $36.33
Executive - $48.28

Color choices: Red, Black, Cobalt, White or Hunter

Voting was done by PM to Travis.

Red is too standard, black and cobalt have been done, so white and green were the only really interesting choices.  The Waiter probably won out because it was the most affordable.

In case anyone wants to have a look at the previous models:

SOSAK KOTY 2003-2006

SOSAK KOTY 2007

SOSAK KOTY Series

I just opened my first can with my Waiter.

It is... adequate.

Given the choice between using the Vic Waiter and bashing a can open with a rock, I'd take the waiter, but that combitool certainly ain't great.

It is a rougher, jaggedier cut than either the standard vic can opener, or the LM style one.

Yeah, I find that it's a bit of a sacrifice to have both tools in one.  It's not a great caplifter either, but it's sufficient at both jobs.
