A Multi tool promo gift
on: January 17, 2016, 10:43:11 PM
Received from a company about 10 years ago, with company name sticker on the handles
Sticker was removed
Does this look like a SOG clone?
All it needs is the gears

To be fair it performs OK, but not carried

I would not call it a SOG clone as the only thing remotely similar is the covers. Looks more like a original Supertool with plastic covers added.

Fair enough, SOG/Leatherman influenced then

The covers are metal with plastic covers, removable, of course

It does have some cutting power to it, I'll say that

Nothing makes your company seem more reputable than cheap tools as promo gifts, at least shoddy pens are unlikely to break or injure you when you really need them.

Not seen one like this before...
Is it just me, or is this tool incredible fat? Can you give us the rundown on its dimensions please?
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

As long as you're not in the tool making business - it's something the potential client might be more likely to keep, and look at, than a business card, so it has it's purpose.

(I know a company that used to put it's logo on Business-card holders and hand them out at exhibition/trade shows, figuring you'll see their name first before you open it to look at the business cards you collected inside  8) )

As for the tool, looks alright, the covers are a nice touch as the edges were a major complaint on that tool design, and by the sound of it, the quality is as good or better than the $20 specials still available today.

I wrote an article about that a few years ago:
