Anyone own a Griptilian ?
on: January 22, 2016, 12:23:28 AM
Just picked up a Mini Griptilian. A little pricey for me, the packaging is pretty cool with the microfiber bag. I like the one hand opening, the Axis lock will take a little getting used to but all in all a solid knife. Any thoughts ?

Benchmade's flagship model.  Well regarded. Not much to dislike, except the price.  I've stopped buying Benchmade because of their pricing structure, but they make some tasty knives.

Large Griptilian.

Duracoated tanto version.

I'm more of a Spydie guy, so I like the Spydie hole.  But the thumb stud is just as good - just different.

They're nice lightweight knives, easy to carry and easy to deploy.

I still think the Grip with AWT aftermarket scales is better in hand than any other Griptillian. I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my Grip with AWT scales. It is probably in my top 3 favorite folders EVER! They take the Griptillian to a whole new level in my opinion.

There will be no pictures of mine in the thread as I deleted everything in my photobucket.

I have never had or even handled a Minigrip so I have no idea. I really want a Minigrip though so I can put the AWT Minigrip scales on it.  >:D I love my big knives, but I also love my small knives probably even more than the big ones. I will dig up the Grip pics tomorrow. Maybe even tonight if you sweet talk me.  ;)

I regret saying that now since I'm in bed already and now I feel bad.  :( I will do it right away once I get a moment tomorrow though. Just for the Birthday girl!

Happy smurfing Birthday by the way!!! :nanadance:

Alright a bit late, but it wasn't my fault. You already know the details Mrynnr.  :D

Selected a few pics to share of My Griptillians. I just realized I did not upload the pics of the Custom shop etched blade Griptillian I had and returned.

Bought a brand new Grip for a donor to the AWT scales.

Tore it down within 10 minutes of its arrival.

Into the new scales.

Just random pics of it once it was done.

Pics of it with my other Grip for comparison.

Those AWT scales are so much nicer than the original ones!
I really like the mini grip as an EDC, lightweight, very sharp and a smooth one hand opening.
